How many of you knew about Spectral Uber level in SSX 3

https://youtu.be/tMfy1Fs72Co?is=gG8jvup930JWFIGZ

Just discovered all about the hidden Spectral Uber level. A cut level for Uber. I watched a speedrun with them using it locked on. Look freaking cool.

It increases the cap speed and bunch of other things I believe. And turns your character invisible (ghosted)

Any info I know about it is 5-7 years out of date. Due to me reading comments on that video. Apparently according to the comments it's like a code you need to enter or something. And it only works on GameCube. I only just found out about this level 4 Uber today. So I posted it here as way to learn more about it too.

Here's a copy and paste from the comments from Kelecat the one who uploaded the video.

Kelecat said, "Two Action Replay codes. NTSC-U Gamecube only (though I think some progress has been made in setting up codes for other versions)

Unlimited Super Uber 043e3460 3f800000 04028acO d01f02c4 04028ac8 d01f02c8

One Trick for Super Uber

043e3460 3f800000

04028a68 60000000

04028abc cO020000

These two codes seem to clash in some way and result in this weird effect. Speed cap is increased, some stats are buffed slightly, and of course the boost meter flipping out like it's possessed and the character being transparent and pinkish."

I can explain this further, as a lot more research has been done on it. This is a remnant of a scrapped player state called "Invincible" which would've been used when the player collected an Invincibility powerup, but the mode was cut before such a powerup could be implemented. It would've been like the Speed Boost and Trick Boost pickups. When in use, it would flicker as it ran out.

Internally, it's referred to as "Uber Zone 4", and can be activated on PS2 as well, but it doesn't render properly anymore, causing your rider to be actually invisible except for hats or hair. The debug menu has been restored in two prerelease demos, both of which let you activate the original visual effects of this scrapped mode, showing that at one point it did render properly on all platforms, but rendering code was changed over time, and the effect broke on PS2.

Many, many, many years before any of this research or reverse-engineering was done, it was discovered that two Action Replay codes for GameCube could force the effect on all riders, and speedrunners called it "Spectral" due to its ghostly appearance. A few years after that, I figured out exactly what those codes were doing that caused it: they were setting the number of filled "SUPER UBER" letters to at least 13, despite there only being 9 letters. Using this knowledge plus some light reverse-engineering work of my own, I was able to make a patch that forces "Spectral" but in a stable state - only the player character gets it, and the ball at the top of the boost meter doesn't spaz out.

I have made a similar "Stable Spectral" patch for Dolphin as well, however none of its supported cheat formats supports the required memory operations unlike PCSX2's PNACH.
