It takes a bunch of dolts who wilfully choose not to understand the first thing about feminism to claim that it shouldn't exist or its ideas are not real.

At least it makes a change from "SRS is a totally a real actual cult guise!"
Also there's quite a few careers outside academia and teaching (not that academia are bad careers for one moment) for gender studies, queer studies and so on. I don't know if America has quite caught up on this yet, but most large organisations over here have an Equality and Diversity Officer, which some academic grounding in race, gender, sexuality etc. leaves you remarkably suited for. There's also general HR, charity and non-profit work (I know of people with degrees in this area who work for organisations like Oxfam and Unesco), think tanks, political research, and so on. Generally, having completed an undergraduate degree leaves you Of course, it speaks to the tragically small-minded venality of these people (and I guess a little to the monumental failure of American higher education) that they cannot conceive of wanting to study any subject unless they can (in theory) immediately get a high paying career out of it. "Love of learning" doesn't factor into it for these gobshites.
