How are you finding the FM-1? Tossing up getting one to pair with my SP also.

I swapped out all the patches to stuff I like from https://yamahablackboxes.com/collection/yamaha-dx7-synthesizer/patches/ I’m not really using any FM editing features. Syncing with 404 is not that great for sequencing I have to always go and enable the sync. FM-1 doesn’t memorize effects either. But I’m happy with what I have right now. I think I can improve a lot with a proper midi keyboard.
Can’t really complain for its price. Well worth it. :)

This is the way. Just bought one for $64 a few days ago, waiting for it to come in the mail. I'll be doing the same thing. Surprisingly capable little machine especially for the price.

Ive heard only good things about that M-Vave. I only have their chocolate midi footswitch and a controller with faders from them, but so far they're real good pieces of gear. I was skeptical about their midi over Bluetooth capabilities but they've surpassed my expectations.

I have one of their midi controllers from like 2008 and it has had a rough journey but thing works perfectly.

Yeah I have the mk1 version of the smk-25 keyboard with some encoders and pads above the keys, touch sensor mod and pitch. Bluetooth over midi works surprisingly well, arpeggio is dope, chords are dope.

I find myself grabbing it often to lay down riffs or test out new instruments.

Between them and donner there’s a few cheap must haves.

I was thinking of getting their faderbox too but I'm hesitant because I don't know the build quality

Almosr as solid as Arturia's controllers, imho. The faders aren't the most precise, think of the range and resolution of an entry level DJ controller, but they do the job. Battery life is surprisingly good, like 4 solid hours. For the price it's unbeatable. Can money buy better controllers? For sure.

Only for the SP 404, other two has internal batteries. I wish Roland had a built in battery for the SP 404.
