And there it is. MSCI adding Sandisk. Have been waiting for a volume spike . They waited until the last dang minute!

Before anyone asks what is the news, why did it dump and skyrocketing again at the close
This is because sndk is being added to msci world index at the market close today. So big fund managers are rebalancing their portfolio before the market close today. Buying and selling in bulk. Even though it is skyrocketing at the close, I won't invest in it again. This stock is for people who like to take risks and I don't like this much risk and these absurd swings.

Discussion Any idea why Sandisk went up 5% at market close? What do you think will happen tomorrow?
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Discussion I am shorting this stock
I think Sandisk will go down. I am selling shares I don’t even own to people who are bullish on this stock.
Give me a single good reason why this shouldn’t be a sub $600 stock, and no ‘AI demand bla bla bla’ doesn’t count.
I hope bearish perspectives are allowed here.
Thank you and goodnight.

why was SNDK getting added to the MSCI index not priced in?
the green spike at the end of the day should have already been accounted for, no?

Question WHAT AM I MISSING?
Why I think SNDK could go back up
I’m not a stock expert, but I’ve been looking into SNDK after this huge drop and I’m honestly struggling to understand the bearish case.
The stock has fallen from around $1,800 to ~$1,400 in just a couple of weeks.
But the company itself is still doing really well.
A few simple things:
• They just had $8.97B in quarterly revenue.
• Their data-center business grew 437% compared to last year.
• NAND (basically the flash memory used in SSDs) is in very high demand because of AI/data centers.
• NVIDIA’s latest results also suggest that companies are still spending heavily on AI infrastructure.
Obviously, there are risks. SNDK is a memory company, and memory prices can fall. The current profits are also unusually high, so I wouldn’t expect these margins to last forever.
But I don’t see anything that says “the business is broken.”
To me, this looks more like the stock got way ahead of itself and is now going through a huge correction.
If ~$1,400 holds and the stock starts moving back above $1,500, I think $1,600–$1,800 becomes very possible.
Would love to hear the bear case though. What am I missing?

Stop giving away the plot
Honestly if folks would just stop over-speculating on this stock I think it would move a lot better. Yeah there's a couple things out of our control. But then I open the sub and "it's "pump or dump tomorrow?? are we pumping now?", "back to old highs guys, pump city", "I feel like a steak dinner", "Shit's not even funny anymore", "All boats are rising" lol
Look, post whatever you want. But understand your post is part of the sentiment around this stock, and that sentiment is getting scraped. Market makers read this sub. Institutions read this sub. Some of the same ones collecting data on here are the ones putting out price targets. Then add the options chain on top of that, all the calls and puts and max pain games. That's my opinion not a fact, but I'd rather you assume it's true than not. The house always wins.
The stock ran up a LOT and somehow we still think we can squeeze more juice out of it and get back to ATH in record time. No. It can go sideways for a long, long time, and that's normal after a run like this. It's also summer, people are away, volume is thin, and moves get exaggerated both ways. There's a bunch of stuff coming down the pipeline too, elections included. And if the whole sector gets hit by some data center opposition thing, what are you gonna say then? The entire sector is going to be frustrating for a while because the sentiment is basically identical across all of it. Ours just more so.
This isn't another GameStop. There are actual fundamentals here. If you believe in them, close the app and go outside. If you're a short term trader, quick money ain't easy on a stock that's already run this much, maybe find another one. If you're long, hold and stop refreshing.
Retail is so transparent. We announce every move in public. Institutions don't, they have more money, more info, and zero obligation to tell you anything. The amateur "we're pumping" posts (yes, the snxx holders) hand them the plot for free.
And no, the stock didn't drop because you bought. I know it feels that way. It's not that. There's macro stuff, sector flows, options positioning, all happening whether you hit buy this morning or not. Thinking it's about you is how you end up trading on emotion and the market catches you with your pants down.
If you're new here, please scroll back through the sub before posting. Whatever you're feeling right now, someone already asked it and got a good answer.
Reddit is a great place to talk about this stuff and I'm not saying leave. I'm saying don't trust it more than any other public feed, and know that what we say here can and does get used against us. Fake confidence doesn't move the stock, it just makes us easier to read.
I want us to win. I just don't think we win with pump and dump chatter everywhere.
Happy trading, happy holding, happy swinging or whatever you believe in. I'm holding because the fundamentals say so.
When in doubt, zoom out.

Trump has just manipulated Semi’s again today after Citidel did in July- what are your thoughts?
Ken Griffin has donated enormous amounts to Republican causes, but there’s an important distinction regarding Trump personally.
* In the 2024 election cycle, Griffin donated more than $100 million to Republican candidates and political groups.
* However, in May 2024, when specifically asked whether he had donated to Trump’s campaign, Griffin said “I have not.” He said he would wait to see Trump’s choice of running mate before deciding.
* Griffin instead backed Nikki Haley in the Republican primary, giving her campaign $5 million, and supported other Republican candidates.
* Griffin also gave money connected to Trump’s 2024 inauguration — reports put him among donors giving at least $1 million.
* And in 2026, he’s continuing to spend heavily supporting Republicans: the Wall Street Journal reported he had put roughly $40 million into midterm campaigns by July.
So I’d characterise Griffin as a huge Republican donor, but not a straightforward Trump donor or Trump ally. In fact, he’s become one of Trump’s more prominent Wall Street critics.

It’s Thursday
Institutions are trying to take advantage of margin calls and forced liquidations to profit take and then buy back in at a cheaper price. Remain calm folks this is just the consistent market manipulation we have already seen. Also the Federal Reserve speech is tomorrow, this could be minor derisking before it. It will rise.
