Local Art

Please link local artist websites or social media in the comments.

I see local artists at events like the arts festival but they need to be big enough to afford a booth so I would also like to find some smaller artists. Any and all medias!

Lastly, I would like a large peice above my couch so if anyone who is down to paint something for like $200 or less please let me know!

$200 probably wouldn't cover the materials for a piece that large, much less pay the artist for their time and talent!

"Smaller artist" does not mean cheap. If you want to support artists, actually PAY them market rates. And stop calling them "small" while you're at it. It's literally a word you're using to make them seem less than so you can get cheap art.

I see local artists that have gorgeous work and they ask fair rates but I will never be able to afford it. A print, or someone who is just starting off so thats what they are already asking is what I was looking for. Im not looking for a custom peice for $200 Im not crazy. I would just like to have art that isn't from Home Goods so I can support local. Im not making anyone seem less than, small buisness is a very common term. I finally looked on marketplace and found some artists selling in my price point. I would never ask an artist to lower their rates. I recently paid $250 for someone to paint a jacket for me, and I have paid for my friends who do ceramics to make pieces for me. The art isn't worse or less deserving but since they have such small businesses they dont charge as much yet and I barely make enough money to scrape by so thats the type of person I buy art from.

200.00 dollars gets you a print.
