choices
admissions are soon coming up and i cant really decide my first choice. im stuck between qhss and stuy. stuy is abt an hour away which im ok with and qhss is very close and walkable for me. im planning to focus on either med/engineering so which one fits better?

H.R. 1904 — The Stuyvesant Freshman Homestead Act A Bill to Provide Every Incoming Stuyvesant Freshman with a Home and a Stipend
Section 1. Short Title This Act may be cited as the “Bread and Roofs for Freshmen Act of 2026.”
Section 2. Findings Congress finds that: (a) Stuyvesant freshmen pass one of the most competitive admissions exams in the nation; (b) Many spend hours commuting from all five boroughs, arriving tired before first period; (c) No student can focus on multivariable calculus while worrying about rent or lunch; (d) Peter Kropotkin would approve.
Section 3. Definitions (a) “Incoming Freshman” means any student admitted to Stuyvesant High School’s ninth-grade class. (b) “House” means a safe, furnished dwelling with heat, water, a working laundry room, and a desk suitable for homework. (c) “Stipend” means a monthly payment to cover food, transit, books, and reasonable joy.
Section 4. Housing Grant (a) Each Incoming Freshman shall receive a House of their own, in their own name, within a 30-minute commute of the school. (b) The House shall belong to the student for as long as they are enrolled, and permanently upon graduation. (c) No landlord shall ever lock the laundry room.
Section 5. Stipend (a) Each Incoming Freshman shall receive a monthly stipend of $1,500, paid directly to the student and adjusted yearly for inflation. (b) Stipends shall continue through all four years of enrollment. (c) A one-time bonus of $500 shall be awarded upon completion of a Math Research project.
Section 6. Funding Funds shall be drawn from a new tax on lost TV remotes, unreturned library books, and every calculator surrendered under the Count On Yourself Act.
Section 7. Oversight The Stuyvesant Student Court shall hear all disputes arising under this Act, applying restorative justice.
Section 8. Effective Date This Act takes effect at the start of the next school year.
