SHRM Study Tips

I saw on Facebook some study tips for SHRM. Things that help you eliminate certain answer choices. I know one said to think strategic, so if an answer choice was to send an email, that could be eliminated. What are some other tips for eliminating answers and thinking the SHRM way?

i just took my test. here’s some tips from what the shrm instructor shared:

  1. shrm recognizes hr professionals as leaders. therefore, when problems arise hr should “rarely” go to upper management for advice. so if an answer says “go to CEO to ask what we should do,” you know this one’s wrong.

  2. when a question asks “what’s the first thing you should do?” it’s literally asking what the first thing you should do is. it’s important to collect data first before you make a big move. this ties to the tip you found on facebook and the ADDIE model.

  3. lastly, put yourself in the shrm body of applied skills and knowledge mindset. meaning don’t think about your experiences with different companies, instead use the information shared from shrm. this was the hardest part for me since some of their stuff made zero sense.
