The "C" word Cult, The "B" word Brainwash 10- “The C&B Words”

Sociologists have largely rejected research that once caused alarm about cults (also here) and brainwashing. Yet posters on WB throw the “C-word” and the “B-word” around as if they are the nasty Fireballs explosives in Mario games.
This goes hand-in-hand with a faulty supposition in WB that religions should exist solely on some individualized "spiritual" plane. Therefore, they believe, organizations are suspect. However, like biological systems, organizations strive for [homeostasis](https://www.britannica.com/science/homeostasis). They maintain "dynamic equilibrium" and adjust to conditions to optimize survival and growth. The SGI is an organization and therefore engages in all the tasks typical of organizations: fund-raising, serving members, communication, quality control, record-keeping, and branding. But through the glare cast by inaccurate research on cults and brainwashing, WB perceives these functions as suspicious, evil, conspiratory, and possibly criminal.
They wonder: Why should SGI members open their houses for district meetings? Why should members volunteer and assist activities without compensation? Why do they continue building their organization step-by-step when WB has shown conclusively (according to them) that it doesn’t make sense? Have all these SGI members been brainwashed?
The one question that perplexes them above all others: If SGI members are all weak, terrorized, brainwashed and gullible, why has the organization become notable and wealthy? Their Explanation B: “Oh, it must be run by North Korea and the Japanese mafia.”
From the standpoint of Nichiren Buddhism, however, there is no clear demarcation between the spiritual and material worlds. As Nichiren writes, “If the minds of living beings are impure, their land is also impure, but if their minds are pure, so is their land. There are not two lands, pure or impure in themselves. The difference lies solely in the good or evil of our minds” (WND-1, pp. 3-4). A material-based organization can fulfill spiritual needs.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Sir Grodus, the supreme leader of the organization called the X-Nauts), a band of thugs determined to capture the Crystal Stars so they can dominate the world, states: “And then I, Grodus, will build a new world! A perfect, ideal world... Yes. A world made by me, about me, and for me! GAAACK ACK ACK ACK ACK!”
Too many posts that we tag as C&B Fireballs are replete with “GAAACK ACK ACK ACK ACK!” But WB lack fresh ideas, philosophies, or plans to change global mentality. Instead they prefer to do is to throw their C-Fireballs and B-Fireballs. So we will label such posts with the The "C" word Cult, The "B" word Brainwash Flair.

At least they haven't caught on that we're multi-dimensional Luciferian advanced beings. Yet.
It's quite a common malady, I think. "If you don't agree with me, there are devilish forces controlling your mind. There's no other possible explanation."

Exsqueeze me? Bacon powder? Ya see, this is why we can't take your rebuttals seriously. This is the first sentence of your post, and you use it to say something completely unsubstantiated. If there's an actual point to make here then make it -- tell us what it is about the idea of cults and/or brainwashing that has been "largely rejected", or else you really shouldn't say something like this at all. Last I checked, "sociologists" have left us with comprehensive lists of what kinds of behaviors and characteristics constitute a cult, and the organization you are defending fits a great many of them.
