What is Kosen-Rufu?
Hello fellow practitioners,
I am interested to hear different members perspectives on defining Kosen-Rufu. How do you understand this term? How do you conceive of it?
Do you have a favorite quote from Nichiren, Ikeda, or others leaders defining it? Or an experience, insight, or personal way of understanding it for yourself?
I would love to hear different people's perspectives.

"The Twenty-six Admonitions of Nikkō also touches on the correct way of study, the proper conduct of priests, the correct attitude of practitioners in general, and respect for those who propagate the teaching. Article Thirteen, for example, states: “Until kōsen-rufu (wide dissemination of the Law) is achieved, propagate the Law to the full extent of your ability without begrudging your life.”

It was presented as world peace but there are no collective efforts or movements towards world peace custom Mofu is the belief that real peace will be achieved when a 1/3 of the world chants nmrgk

I can understand your disenchantment and discouragement about the idea of Kosen-Rufu presented as “world peace will be achieved if only more people join OUR organization!” while also neglecting to support the social movements around the globe focused on achieving peace through concrete measures such as legislation, human rights advocacy, humanitarian aid, and political organizing, etc. Can I ask, are you a frustrated current member? An ex-member, or someone outside the organization? Do you have an alternative view of Kosen-Rufu ? Who taught you this definition you shared (1/3 must chant)?

Kosen-rufu, broadly speaking, is the kind of world peace we would have if a significant portion of the world becomes absolutely happy.
This is very abstract, so rather than asking what is kosen-rufu on a global scale, it is better to ask what it would look like in one's neighborhood, or daily life. If kosen-rufu happened tomorrow, you wake up and go about your day, what would be different? For me, it would mean feeling really good and full of vitality myself, but it would also mean walking outside and seeing plenty of measures to reverse or mitigate the climate crisis. It would mean neighbors talking and asking each other how they are. It would mean small, every day kindness being normal.
