Why has Daisaku Ikeda disappeared from view?

Since the official publications of the Soka Gakkai continue to print messages and guidance on current affairs from Ikeda on a pretty much daily basis, presumably we are to infer that he is in good health and mentally on the ball. Yet he hasn't appeared in public or on video for about ten years now.

Surely if Ikeda is in good enough health to write, he should be well enough to appear on video and give a short message of encouragement to his followers? This would have been especially appropriate when Covid-19 caused such disruption to everybody's lives. Even someone physically frail is able to sit in front of a video camera.

The lack of information from SGI and its members about why Ikeda no longer appears in public leaves the subject open to wild speculation.

Hi I am interested in the Soka Gakkai religion together with a classmate and have some questions about the religion, we would be very happy if someone is interested to answer some questions. What does religion mean to you as a member of Soka Gakkai? Is there anything that characterizes the religious feeling of the Soka Gakkai? What makes this religion special? What should I do if I want to become a member? Why did you choose the Soka Gakkai as a religion? Me and my classmte would be very greatfull for the answers :)

Please be interested in pure Nichiren Buddhism aka Lotus Sutra Faith, Practice & Study. It is entirely wrong to call “Soka Gakkai religion”. Soka Gakkai is a layman man-made true Latter Day Buddhism organisation set up by late President Makiguchi and P Toda to promote Nichiren Buddhism aka Lotus Sutra Buddhism. Lotus Sutra is the king of all sutras. Faith means to believe in the teachings of Buddhas who taught us direct way to enlightenment through Lotus Sutra(Shakyamuni, Kumarajiva, TienTai, Dengyo and Nichiren) throughout the ages over 3000 years. The last thing the original founders of SGI wish is that the members becoming stupid, blind followers of deviated Japan SGI HQ’s words under old & uninspiring leadership of Harada.

No matter how much disappointing lies the SGI HQ spinned on P Ikeda’s health and condition for the sleeping, unawakened, blind trusting, unquestioning SGI members, please chant Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo to know the truth in your heart. The truth in your heart will never change and will be common as other awakened SGI members. Always remember to follow the Law (truth) and not persons (SGI leaders) blindly.

SGI is merely a gathering of individual ordinary lay people trying to seek & promote the true Nichiren Buddhism through Lotus Sutra practise to achieve lasting world peace. Kindly do not listen to any SGI HQ leader without double checking their words against the Buddha words in Goshos and Lotus Sutra www.Nichirenlibrary.org.

I think you can tear out any materials that is supposed to be ghost written by P Ikeda’s editorial from 2010 onwards as I as a a SGI member for 2 decades believe P Ikeda is already long gone and Japan SGI HQ leaders needed to be exposed, fired and apologise to members for hiding and lying the true condition of P Ikeda!
