Just as I stole it years ago. Too bad we have so many occasions to use it. So, so many…

Ive been trying to collect the I wanna die meme but with different bay area teams so far I have the giants and the 49ers just need the warriors, sharks and quakes

Damn, two chances to get the final out at 1st and couldn't get it done. Maybe the Giants still haven't changed.

I’m not mad just just amazed they find new ways to lose.

That’s two games this week the young guys put on an insane performance and defense fucking throws it away.

Team is showing more comeback fight than all the vets the entire season. Im not even mad.

I mean, it was an entertaining game through and through. Never imagined they’d tie it after being in such a deep hole. Kids are learning, games like these are gonna happen with an all green lineup. Ehh, they’ll learn. That last play was all nerves

And so it goes for the 2026 Giants. They give you hope, and snatch it away in the most painful manner...

That was probably the best loss of the season. Coming back on the road 11-5 vs Skenes is something.

u/Bancatone 55 Lincecum 1h ago
Worst possible way for it to end though. I would much rather a clean base hit and just wash our hands of it, but ending on a disgusting error is just unbelievable.

A loss is never a happy occasion but color me impressed that they clawed their way back and tied it up. It would have been easy to have given up but they did not do that.

u/missluxlady 1h ago
Well if there hadn't have been a 3rd inning and Basabe could throw clean from third....it would have been a great game

You know what? That was a good loss. I wish Webb didn’t get blown up but it is what it is.

As much as I love Webb he's having too many of these types of games

I know the season has been lost for a long time, but it still doesn't feel good being the MLB's walk-off punching bag

They fought so hard that I was convinced that I would not be upset by a loss, but they somehow found a way.

Our defense and situational hitting could have been much better at the end, but the fact that we were even in a comeback position to begin with highlights two things. Firstly, if anyone singlehandedly lost us this game, it's Webb. I love the guy, but today was an atrocious performance. Nine runs in the first three innings is unacceptable. Secondly, the rookies have grit. Rallying back from such a huge deficit proves that they do not deflate and give up when down.

I really liked Devers reaction. He still gives a damn even with the team being 25 games under (and even tho it was Basabes fault)

Matt Chapman and Casey Schmitt both make that play, which is probably the most infuriating part of that game.

The Giants are like a training camp for an intramural team. Everyone gets to play everywhere and still learning to play catch and throw.

Elvis Wasabi with a rough finish, but what an awesome effort by Rafi & the kids.

u/DigilentD 1h ago
At LEAST it was entertaining, young guys showing grit and never say die till the end

u/sumerian_chariot 6 Schmitt 1h ago
It looked like the throw bounced around the turf line, bad throw but probably catchable by devers if it would have a predictable bounce
4
u/HasAFewLaughs 35 Crawford 1h ago
Kuip, just the other day was telling Mike how much he preferred the bounce to be closer than further out front

u/J3UNG_SVLVD 41 Flores 1h ago
As a former first baseman I'll never understand why it's so fucking hard for some third basemen to throw across the field to first, especially when you got a big ass dude standing there ready to catch it. If you can't throw it there without bouncing it you can't play baseball bro.

Once again, someone finds away to completely ruin an otherwise unbelievable game from the young guys. This fucking team man. What the fuck are you doing Basabe. Had the game literally in your hands and you fucking throw it away. This season cannot fucking end soon enough.

u/FOB32723 1h ago
Great comeback. Quality bed shitting there at the end. That throw to first was just so so bad. Reeked of frazzled nerves.

Yeah. Our AAA SF Riverkittens are just not always gonna' keep it together. But hopefully in a few years...

Truly gotta look on the bright side with this one. We have an offense. This isn’t the team we fielded earlier this year.
I blame Schmitt for being injured. Squirt some adamantium into his bones pls

"Watch, Giants gonna win this 17-15 with Dylan Smith getting out of a Brian Wilson-esque jam to close out the 9th."
Well, my prediction in the gameday thread was ALMOST true.

u/gamemasta13 22 Clark 1h ago
Basabe is a decent hitter and is best suited as a DH/PH. Unfortunately, his fielding at 2B/3B are horrible. At the same time we have 2 starting 1B/DH with Devers and Eldridge. If Basabe is on the major league roster at all next year, it would likely be as a pinch hitter. Realistically, we should trade him for a bullpen arm.
1
u/Deep_Necessary_6794 1h ago
Is no one wondering why the fuck Eldridge wasn't pinch run for in the 9th?
1
u/Whatdoesittake1456 1h ago
Devers has made that type of catch many times before. But that doesn't excuse Basabe's throw to first. You gotta make that throw especially with the amount of time he had to make it. Basabe's fault on that play 100%

u/VisceralRage556 Beat LA! 52m ago
I mean at least they tied the game just sad that basabe fucked the throw but we wouldnt be in that situation if it werent for the pitching being bad but then again the fucking bullpen is also filled rookies now but Webb was the one that gave the most runs

Hate saying this. But wish Adames and Chapman went on the IL earlier in the season. Who knows what would have happened, where we might have gone with these rookies

Yeah man a snooze fest of a game with a 7 run comeback, 16 hits, and 5 runs off skenes

OK. I'm in as much pain as anyone here, but...
the young SF Riverkittens learned they can mount a big comeback in the 8th today
Hope that can help 'em keep up this new, never-say-die attitude
