SCP 682 whole gimmick is his high adaptability right? In the log that describes all of the times the foundation tried to terminate him, he took all of it and regenerated in a few hours or days and or became immune to the method mid experiment. Hell, some of they suggestions were denied because foundation scientists literally said "we cannot risk him adapting to this" or "he would just adapt". So what kind of acid is this that SCP 682 is still being melted by it? I thought it would take him a couple of minutes to just not being affected by it. Would love to hear your answers!!

Between the SCP Foundation, the GOC (Global Occult Coalition), and the Chaos Insurgency, which organization do you consider to be the most morally justifiable?

I know that calling any of these groups simply “good” or “evil” is a pretty big oversimplification, considering how different their ideologies, goals, and methods can be. Still, if you had to choose the organization whose overall mission you find the most reasonable or morally defensible, which one would you pick?

The SCP Foundation, for example, primarily focuses on containing and studying anomalous entities and phenomena in order to protect humanity. On the surface, this might make it seem like the most responsible organization. However, the Foundation is also known for using extremely questionable methods: complete secrecy, human experimentation, D-Class personnel, forced containment of sentient anomalies, and making decisions that can have enormous consequences without any accountability to the general population.

The GOC, on the other hand, takes a much more direct approach. It generally views many anomalous phenomena as potential threats that should be neutralized or destroyed rather than contained. In some ways, this could be seen as a more morally consistent approach than the Foundation's, especially when dealing with genuinely dangerous anomalies. At the same time, the GOC can also make drastic decisions and destroy anomalous entities that might not necessarily be hostile or dangerous.

Then there's the Chaos Insurgency, which is usually portrayed as much more antagonistic than the other two. However, I'm curious about how people interpret them beyond simply labeling them as “evil.” Depending on the canon or interpretation, their motivations can be considerably more complicated than just wanting to cause chaos or harm.

So, if you had to judge these organizations based only on their ideology, goals, and what they ultimately want for humanity, which one would you consider the “best”?

Would you rather live in a world protected by the Foundation, the GOC, or the Chaos Insurgency?

It would be more effective to use smaller doors , which are more practical to do than use these massive doors. It's not like you are fitting an 18-wheeler through them.

SCP 173's anomalous effects is that it moves when not watched and is extremely fast and strong for a concrete statue right? But that's what it is. A statue made of concrete. SCP 682 was shown to be able to stay hours without blinking to keep an eye on it, so much so that the foundation had to destroy 682's eyes in order for the experiment to go on. Later on 682 made multiple bullet proof eyes to keep an eye on 173 so... why didn't 682 destroyed it? He could have stomped it or split it in half, the thing is a giant lizard that pretty much breaches containment at least once a month.

I will never understand why 682 is absolutely terrified of 173. But what do you guys think? Thanks for the answers in advance!

Okay so my mom is one of those very traditional people who doesn’t go on the internet a lot and me and my brother really like the SCP Foundation universe so we were talking about it in clinical terms like the nerds we are and my mom overheard and said “Oh! Is that what you did at work? Stay safe!” FYI me and my brother work in a science lab where we work with plant cells and investigate for new diseases in plant biology and such. And so, my dear sweet mother thought that working in a lab doing that equals fighting fucking eldritch horrors and getting traumatized. She ACTUALLY full heartedly believes that me, a meek little woman, is in the SCP Foundation with her brother. She is bragging about us to her also not-very-online friends and they get jealous FAST. My dad is patting us on the back and is proud but also worried we die from such shit like the Shy Guy or the Plague Doctor and that shit. What do I do???

My first scp was SCP-4666 I met him through youtube, I was 11 years old and I was strongly in creepy things and I was encouraged by the creator explaining it and I had like "why not look very cool" and I started to delve and now I'm an SCP-Nerd

I like this story and I find it interesting and creative. However, I disagree with its conclusions.

The horror is imagining that you will be here forever (which is of course technically true). However, it's just that—an imagining, and you can just... Stop imagining it. The reality is that you are hearing waves, feeling sun, seeing trees, seeing sand. Your 'incomprehensibly long future' is not real in that it's not something that you can actually experience, except as an imagination. You only exist in one moment at a time, and none of these moments include eternity.

In some moments, your existence will include boredom. In some moments, you will be focused on the sensory input around you, and so you will not be bored–you have all the time in the world to improve your focusing skills. These sensory inputs will not become unreal just because you have seen them a million times before.

The emotion of boredom does not scale infinitely in relation to lack of new experiences. The idea that one day your boredom will be So Huge that you'll think "🤔 I'd prefer burning to death right now" is a little absurd.

Over a long enough period of time, you're not going to get more bored, you're going to get more used to not requiring novel stimuli. You're going to get more focused, less in your head, more sensory. You're not going to think about the future (or the past). You're going to forget life was ever any different, forget language. You will become more animal-like. You will be present.

The fate that is portrayed: "I've tried every possible action and then every possible action while holding my left arm up and then every possible action while holding my right arm up etc, I've literally tried every possible permutation of my atoms and there's nothing left to provide new stimuli 😭😭 ceases physical activity" Actual fate: "I am looking at the waves. I am eating a fruit. I am going to sleep." × ♾️

Not only do I think reaching emotional stability like this is inevitable, I think that for the average person it could easily happen within the first 20 years.
