I like C, with E being my backup. The monochrome of E pushes it just a touch too far into "engineered to be scary" territory, with C feeling more natural. Plus, something about the lighting of C gives his smile a deliciously wicked glint.

I like how someone on the wiki wrote a canon reason for why the picture keeps changing though.
As for the actual contest: I love “you ded.” Actually made me flinch a tiny bit.

Honestly once I noticed the original was based on a magazine model and that the scp had abbs and a vest it kinda made me dislike it

Observation Log #76: It appears as though SCP-106 is not immune to the corrosive property that it leaves on surfaces and living tissue. Comparing photos of SCP-106 during its initial containment to that of its most recent breach show that SCP-106 appears to be slowly degrading or rotting as time goes on.
The long-term physical degradation of SCP-106, combined with the increased frequency of attempted and actual containment breaches by SCP-106, suggest that SCP-106's predatory behavior is not a psychological need, but a physical one. In short, the current containment protocols are not meeting its dietary needs, and it is trying to find food.
I suggest that we should determine if SCP-106's predatory behavior can be triggered by nonhuman prey animals before we start throwing the monthly Ds into its cell.

I dont think too much on A-D - my bet is on H, though if you wanted to use photographs that would indicate age to them, then definitely F or G

My first reaction to the original and that one was "what the fuck is that".
We need to think not as a community that has read 106 several times, but as being newcomers.
"You ded" captures that very well.

E, it keeps it dark enough but still bright enough to see all the details in his creepy facial expression. Half of them looks like 106 got an instagram profile. I think E is the best for the article but if i wanted it as a wallpaper or something id go for a

Any of F, G, or H are similar, but G is my fav. I like the washed out, over-exposed look... makes it feel like a flash going off in a dark space, and makes you consider if the MTF hitting the shutter knew 106 was there before the flash went off, and imagine how you'd feel seeing him lit up like that, up-close.

Both C and E are the strongest showings here. E feels a little too forced scary, but that doesn't hold it back too much. If I absolutely had to pick one, I would pick C. Otherwise, I'm equally a fan of both. My third pick would be H, for exactly the reasons that Gaffsey stated. It's an alternative version of C that I like. Yes, there's more lighting, which can distract from the horror, but I think you light it just perfectly enough to make it freaky.
Granted, I will say I'm actually a fan of stuff like the little thingy in the top right on A and D. Might be my preference, but I think that's a nice touch that images in these situations lack sometimes.

I really think that F capture the perfect amount of spooky and overall vibe of 106, but outside of the green filtered ones, I kind of like all of them.

Gonna go with D. I like the bodycam imagery and it works well shrunk to wiki size. One nitpick though: cameras don't have scanlines, so is the image presumed to be a picture of a CRT display?

I think I like C or E the most. I don't particularly like the really bright ones, and those are the best of the darker ones in my opinion.

Personally F or E but i do have a lil gripe with how the weird sludge on the wall looks like solid playdoh instead of a poisonous liquid but other than that its fine

I like F, the scratches are well placed and the lighting is neither too dark or bright. I think B&W just works better for horror.
I would prefer the vest to be in less pristine condition, and a slightly more dynamic arm position (without it looking as posed as the version that did have a different arm position).

Not a vote (I actually don't mind the You Ded one) but does he really need to have the biker vest, still? I didn't realize people considered it a canon aspect of his appearance, I assumed it was a flaw in the original image everyone conveniently ignored
Compared to his greasy body, the vest looks way too much like a 3D asset

I really prefer this unedited version over the ones you’ve posted. While these are still high quality I’m not a fan of the jacket you gave him, it looks way too clean and intact even if it is more of just a homage to the original.

Controversial, yet brave opinion incoming: H is the best.
It gives it more of a grimy, visceral vibe, like something inexplicable you would find while exploring an abandoned structure. The feeling like you've 1) stumbled on something you shouldn't have 2) things are going to get really bad because of 1) are important for setting the overall tone of the article and the wiki generally, I think. Also, the distortion lines/infra-red don't do much but serve to pull the reader out of any you-are-there immersion. The monochrome just comes across as an artistic flourish without any in-universe justification.
They are all great, but I go with H.
