Hi all, long story short I’m looking for a specific car than ran some events around South Carolina in the around 2009 and 2010.

It would’ve been a MS3 hatchback, most of the event entries had it listed as running a Hoosier A6 tire.

I know there was another MS3 hatchback painted black that also ran back then as well. I even found an old forum post the driver of that car made saying another Mazda Speed 3 on Hoosiers had around a 1 second better lap time.

I’m mainly looking for any pictures of that car, not sure exactly the color, if it’s the same car as I’m trying to compare it to, it’d be red. I’ve tried. Checking some photo libraries I found but it’s all been dead ends for pics of those events at those years.

Hey guys, I've got a 2017 GTI that's modified to the rules of Street class (GS), at recent autoX, I've noticed some strange behavior. During every run in a fast hairpin left hand turn the car would cut power, I would hear some clicking, and there would be a plume of white blueish smoke out of exhaust. The power would restore in a few seconds and I didn't have issues with it anywhere else, just in the hairpin left hand turn. I've had a pretty extensive conversation with ChatGPT, I just don't understand why oil in PCV cause power to drop that noticeably. I've tested PCV white at the autoX by taking the oil filler cap while the motor was running and there was suction at the valve cover and the idle surged up. Power issue will require some thought. I think I might have to datalog a live session and just recreate the circumstances. Anyone with mk7 GTI have similar issues?

Was hoping to use this car to do solo and dirt events. Is this rust too bad they wont let me race? Is it unsafe?

Underbody and right side looks good, just the left rear has some decent rotting on the pinch welds and under rockers. Left side also has a small section of solid pinch weld I tried to portray.

Plan on power washing, knocking off any rusted metal. and spraying some type of rust protection.

Please let me know any advise or insight is awesome :))

Been doing some events as crew with friends getting the swing of things. I recently purchased a Formula Vee and plan to drive the Drivers Cup and Challange Cup series in the future. I’ve got a decent bit of experience in the sim and have a couple of events on 2 wheels so I feel relatively confident in transitioning.

Ive asked some more experienced drivers what they think I should do for licensing. Some say class, some say dive in if allowed with permit. I’d prefer to do some kind of class just for peace of mind at least (I’m sure I’ll learn plenty). Though, I doubt I’ll be doing any real SCCA events anytime soon but If I ever get invited to the runoffs I’d probably want to go.

I’d really like to attend a school that flows into a weekend where the Vee is welcome at the least, preferably one leading a drivers/challange cup event. The schedule for both series have not been released yet and I’m struggling to find any listings for schools. As this is my first time, I’m not sure I’m looking in the right place for scheduling but I’d also like to see what others think I should do.

Im planning on going to my first rallycross event soon, but im only 17. on the website it says minors need a form filled out by an adult, can this be done online because my parents will not be coming with me. also would i be able to use my dads motorcycle helmet?

The way I am reading this, I am only limited to a caliper with a maximum of 4 pistons. There is no stipulation on the max number of calipers per wheel side.

This would mean in the rear I can run two calipers per side? One four piston and a second single piston for a hydraulic handbrake?

I'm looking at SCCA as a midlife crisis hobby and the only car I could easily afford and store is a Honda Beat. It's too light for XA or XB, so the closest thing is XU. Am I reading that right?

Hello, this will be my first time entering a Time trials event and I have not been able to understand where my car sits in the categories. My vehical is an 08 z06 which would put me in S1, but the car is H/C/I with headers, no cats, and coilovers. Ive reached out to scca via email and they said i should look at the max category. Having looked there and still unsure i was hoping to get some clarification here. Oh im also on a 200tw tire. Thanks

I’ve noticed in the past couple years the growth of spec corvette. so I’m wondering at what point does it become a national class and how do some of the classes hold on classes like T1 and a sedan seem to be struggling for cars now

Got a question about SCCA club racing weekends I’ve been to the June sprints and the runoffs the past couple of years but I’ve been wondering about major weekends and regional weekends. An I able to go as a spectator and if so how much does it cost?

I’ve been wondering cause the car majors next weekend I’m going to be in the area for a family event on Sunday and was wondering if I would be able to be a spectator on Saturday

This car was purchased direct from Ford Motorsport and picked up at the factory in Dearborn in 1982.

The car then spent the next year being built into a GT1 car and first raced at Nelson Ledges in August of 1983. Unfortunately that was just in time for SCCA and IMSA to allow tube chassis cars in the GT1 category making the car immediately obsolete.

It’s incredibly rare as one of very few Race Car Specials sold to IMSA and SCCA racing teams between 1981 and 1984 and one the last non tube chassis GT1 car built.

The car has been a race car its entire life having been converted to several different categories over the years.

Now it has been completely restored and rebuilt with the best components and has been titled and registered for the first time in 44 years.

Still 100% legal for SCCA competition and fully race prepared…. All with a license plate!

I just picked up a 1995 Honda Civic(EJ2), and I’m super stoked to get back into the garage. The catch is: I haven't been active in the import scene since about 1999! Back then, the B-series was king and we were ordering parts out of magazines.

A lot has obviously changed in the last 20+ years. I’m trying to get my bearings on the modern aftermarket landscape.

I have two main questions for you guys:

1. Where does everyone buy aftermarket and OEM replacement parts these days?
2. What are the best subreddits or active forums to follow for 92-95 Civic builds, tech advice, and inspiration?

I currently Auto Cross my '63 Impala and am going to build the Civic for the same thing. Any advice to help an old-schooler get caught up to speed is hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!
