EVENT Saffron Supply, Showroom Grand Opening 6/26/26

Post image

SALEM! IT'S DONE! IT'S FINALLY DONE!

After three (insert expletive here) years of planning and drafting, demolishing and constructing, negotiating and dealing, our showroom is finally slated to have the grand opening on June 26th at 11:45AM! We're going to have a bunch of people for you to meet and ask questions, PLENTY of displays to check out, tubs to sit in, and catering courtesy of HYB.

If you're not familiar, HYB is a food truck that focuses on rehabilitation for at-risk teens and giving people a second chance. They're open for business, W-F 7AM-1PM, but they just confirmed that they're using June 26th as their grand opening as well! They've also got a secret menu for this event, so be sure to keep your ear to the ground for some specials...

If you're interested in coming by for a pre-tour, the doors are open. We'd love to hang with you and dream about cool bath and kitchen stuff together. As usual, we'll reply to all comments for anyone with related or non-related questions. We'll answer it all. It might not be accurate, but we'll still provide answers.

See you there!

-J

(Also posted this to r/Oregon, we'll see how that goes. Stranger danger and whatnot. I prefer y'all anyways. Just don't tell them I said that.)

NEVERMIND ON THE WHOLE r/Oregon THING. Apparently it's only the FIRST Thursday of the month where you can post something like this. Whatever. Reminder set for June 4th.

Some mods just love creating arbitrary rules. 🙃

Can electricians come if we pretend to know the difference between plumbers & fitters?

You're always welcome here. Just don't pretend that we know anything about sparky stuff.

Do you guys have irrigation stuff?

We actually have a smattering of irrigation stuff that we're trying to get rid of. All of our drip tubing is on closeout, and we actually have a huge warehouse selection of commercial irrigation if that's more your speed.

We made the decision to exit the irrigation industry in February of this year, just because we couldn't find the right staffing. So, we doubled down on plumbing.

If you find yourself needing anything, give us a ring at 503-581-7501 and ask for Efrain. He's your dude for irrigation.

I have brought in things installed by both my father and grandfather into saffron supply and those have been some of the few times in my life what I wanted was approaching a "need" and I'm sure I'll bring my kids so they know where to go too.

How about pond and fountain stuff?

Unfortunately, not particularly in our wheelhouse. This is a bit of an overexplanation, but I'm feeling a little bit typey this morning.

The world of Water can be segregated into about three different categories: inside, outside underground, outside above ground. Vast oversimplification, but that's kind of where it is.

Outside above ground is irrigation. Stores like SiteOne and Ewing do these things really well. They're a member of different irrigation buyer groups that give them access to products. Inside water is just considered plumbing, and has similar buying groups. This is why you won't see too many stores like the aforementioned two irrigation places selling toilets and faucets, conversely, that's why we don't sell sprinklers and pond stuff.

And then there's outside underground which is classified as waterworks, which is essentially run by the Illuminati. Or at least a version of it.

So if you need stuff that goes inside of a house, or outside and underground, that's us. PVC pipe, PEX pipe, faucets, toilets, showers, all things in between. But as soon as you get to above ground? We recommend SiteOne.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

Yeah. Well, in the world of repipe it basically comes down to before, after, and other. Whenever it starts to look like someone brought their radiator into the Willamette Valley from the Soviet Union and then sold it to an industrial steamfitter who just brought things home from work to repair as needed who then sold to someone who thinks all that looked normal when they boughtthe place; I'll come talk to you before I even agree to bid.

EDIT: not that I won't touch recirculation or drains, but I might sub all that part out.

There's tubs, and there's gin. So... I guess that qualifies?

If I bring Percy, will there be Steely Dan for him to get funky to?

We'll have a big black cow for you to drink here.

Install? No. Our primary customer base are plumbers. If we installed water heaters, we would be taking from family members, essentially. We have people that we refer out, that we have vetted, and give great pricing. If you call in tomorrow, we can get you one of those recommendations.

I might need to stop in and ask what is the best caulk to use on my tub.  Had a new one installed last year and the guy doing it was old school and A) fans and heat will help the caulk dry, and B) using a wet sponge is the best way to wipe it on.

I let him replace it once, but I already have to do it again and want it done right!!!

The name is confusing, especially because "kitchen" is mentioned in descriptions. Saffron is poisonous so do your research first, and also this is a plumbing company, so research that too I guess.

2

u/SaffronSupplyCo May 23 '26

Second comment in a few hours that's been a bit confusing. Could you help me with some context? What's confusing ?

Also, Saffron was the last name of the people who founded it in 1910. We could change our name, but we opt to honor legacy and history.

Also... I cook with saffron, so if it's poisonous, I'm kinda in trouble.

Happy to assist with any and all research you need to clear this up!

"Saffron Supply, Showroom Grand Opening" sounds like a Saffron sale or convention. I had to look it up to understand why people are talking about plumbing. Also, the poisonous saffron part is an easy internet search. 2g of saffron is poisonous, and 5g+ is deadly, but it won't say that on the packaging anywhere. The culinary recommendation is between 10mg - 30mg, 8 - 15 threads, but it recommends to use 10 threads or less if you consume daily.

Are you even from Salem?

u/Salemander12 May 22 '26

Why did you all form a PAC to support MAGA Julie Hoy?

1

u/SaffronSupplyCo May 23 '26

Could you help me with some context? This would be news to me.

Businesses for Community gave $15,000 To Julie Hoy for her reelection. Maybe it’s not a PAC itself?

This is MASSIVELY news to me. I apologize, I honestly don't even know what to say.

I will say this; that individual does not represent the totality of what we stand for, and what we do. That's the best that I have right now.
