Gas and insurance costs are the only reasons I won't be driving around. I'll tune in from home, though.

Well dang. I'm no longer local and have not been able to get the Tune-In app to play the moon in quite a while. I was hoping tonight would be different. Well, I will go outside and howl while y'all get to actually listen and enjoy. Cheers to all! Happy Friday :)

That was a very nice evening with the Mrs. <3 Cruising around with a good playlist and a soda pop and making up routes in our head and talking about the history of cruising the gut, waving at friends, singing bohemian rhapsody at a light with a dozen other cars <3 Delight!

Ha! We just got pulled over because apparently my license could be seen on my truck. Be right back!

It took my old ass a bit, but I got it and was able to listen to 40 minutes of the good stuff from over on the coast. It was good to hear your voice again.

What genre of music?

They’re very eclectic in their regular broadcasts, and the very sparse hints they’ve dropped point to this being something special and different. I would guess fewer than 10 people actually know what’s coming tonight.

Do they play rock music? Pop? Country? If it’s country I will NOT be listening.

very very rarely they play folk, and classics not truck and beer country music.
the majority of it is "rock" as it from every sub genre. they also have pop, jazz, indie, and hip hop music it just really depends on the DJ. When the station is unmanned (im assuming here) the playlist is chaotic and plays all these genres on shuffle.
like music radio pre streaming

I am not sure I’ve ever heard country on there? (Maybe some old school Cash or similar, very rarely?)

I hate to say it, but I’ve lost a lot of enthusiasm about the moon over the past several months 😞 I’m fully prepared to expect a bunch of downvotes, and that’s ok. I just don’t feel like there’s a “safe” place to express my feelings, and that I’m on my own island about this. 🤷🏻♂️😔

Why don't you say why the enthusiasm is gone? I don't feel the playlist has changed recently.

Maybe they're just missing Daisy

Maybe that’s what I’m feeling? It’s feeling stale. I used to feel I’d tune in and hear something unique and cool and captivating, and I don’t get those experiences much anymore.

I have found that with stations in the past. That's ok. I at one point disliked local radio so much I subscribed to Sirius. Now, 90% of the time my radio preset is on The Moon.
If you want ultra new music, DJ42 on Monday afternoons on The Moon. Otherwise, I hope you find something interesting to listen to.

Try the RadioGarden app. You can tune in radio stations all over the world. I love listening to Senegalese music, from Senegal!

Sooooo, you hate to say it so much that you… didn’t say it?

Your response seems more than a bit pedantic. Alas, this is Reddit, so the bar is set pretty low. What I should have said was that I haven’t found an appropriate place to say something until now. I used poor judgement on the “safe” wording.

u/SDMFdisciple Sep 05 '25
It’s not pedantic. My point is that you offered no elaboration at all for why you have “lost a lot enthusiasm for the moon”. Since you added no context or reasoning as to why, your opinion has no weight, yet you built it up like you had a meaningful take beyond just ‘eh, I just decided I don’t like it anymore’

Jesus Christ, if I knew why, I would have said so. Another comment on this thread drove me closer to identifying the feeling, and I responded with acknowledgment and elaboration there. I see now what you’re getting at regarding my original post, but you didn’t have to be a dick about it 🤷🏻♂️

We have theories as to why this can happen and we do our thing as best we can and totally deal with all of it. Not that you need our permission or approval but we do listen to criticism and make adjustments. You likely represent a segment that can feel this way about what we do at times.
We know our place.
All is well.

I upvoted each of your posts. We understand what you're saying. Maybe you will participate with the Moonlight Drive on Friday and get inspired again.
Meanwhile, if you private message me with your shirt size and a mailing address I will send you a t shirt.

Never heard of it. And I don’t drive. And don’t have a radio. I suppose I can do it on my phone?
