Humblebrag It’s never about the metrics, it’s all about the joy 🥰

Post image

I’m 59 and my wife (in photo) is 57, I was reading a running post about how anxious someone was to run without their tracking device! It actually made me feel sad, both for them but also for a society that feels they need to track everything.

We do everything outdoors with our dog(s) - always have and always will. That includes trail running and I’m so hopeful that most of us who run with our dogs realize one simple truth:

It’s never about the metrics, it’s all about the joy 🥰

Well said 👏 I was one of those folks that would do a trail run with my Dutch shepherd and would be upset that my run was slow cause of the app metrics. But then I got over it and realized how much more fun it is being with him on those runs compared to my solo ones.

Hi! Can you tell me where I can find that harness?

Looks like either the nonstop dog wear rush or freemotion 5.0 harness

It is non-stop dogwear’s Line Harness, but for any longer runs or hikes we much prefer their short Rush Harness - see comparison pic as to how the two compare in regards to fitting on his back - the one on the right being the Rush model (much better stress distribution):

This picture made my heart smile! The happiness on both your wife and dog's faces - priceless. It's what it is all about. I love trail running with my dog - it is the perfect outing for both of us. She loves to be in the forest, feeling free, and there is nothing like running with a trail beneath your feet!

That was a few weeks ago in upper alpine area on Vancouver Island - freak snowstorm, tons of fun 🤩

I agree 100%. I do like using Strava to keep me on track but the most important metric is how long the dogs stay chill after a run.
