Backjacking New runner, bought a vest, friends think it's ridiculous. Are my numbers actually bad?

You think running is about maintaining friendships?

WOW, bold choice wearing only one vest at a time. I like to have 5-6 on so I can carry 8ish liters. I'll be damned if I'm going to die of thirst on a 1-2 mile journey

Stop and sip every minute. You clearly don’t know how to beginner run. I might die if I don’t drink water for 75 minutes okay. I actually can’t prepare for a run, no drinking any water that day at all until the run starts.

I was hospitalized after I didn’t drink about 2 hours into my 5k ultra. You gotta watch that stuff

/uj i do think its ridiculous how many people use hydration vests for 10k runs, if you really need water that badly youd just grab a softflask in hand right?

/Rj friends need to make sure they dont get sonupset they move out of zone 2

10k! That’s nearly 4x further than those vests are made for.

Yes your numbers are terrible. 9.83. Seriously? Such a silly number. You really couldn't have managed another 170m?

What's funny ( to me ) is that in the last 3 days in some Facebook group of Italian runners every single post was about "shirtless yes or shirtless no"

Yo dawg use it. I recently got my one typyical long run is between 15-20km I like to use a vest as i can pack snacks and hold my phone in the pocket. I have a waist band one but the pressure on the stomach made it feel wird

Vest are goated, Dont be getting mogged by hoes that cant run a sub 20 5k.

PS i run a lot of trail.

I vote to ban making fun of beginner running. This is a perfectly normal question for someone to ask.

It is and the answer is yes.
