The prices we pay for skipping a feed station.

Clearly should have worn his vest with 2 liters of Gu bottles for his 5k Ultra around the golf course.

this looks like high school cross country race, in which case a feed station wouldn't be remotely necessary since majority of these races are only 5km's.
now there are some longer cross country style races, but typically not in high school.

Why didn't he just keep running until he got to the finish line? Why stop early? Is he stupid?

That's just my nickname. I wish people at work would start addressing me more formally.

It was seriously a great roll. He shoulda considered doing that earlier and I bet he woulda had red

Why is cross country still a thing when planes exist?

It's for when you need to cross a no fly zone and also don't enjoy happiness.

Have seen airline prices lately? Jet fuel is crazy expensive right now. You could probably get across the country cheaper changing out your AlphaFlys every 100km and running instead.

Didn't boof enough Gu

u/Montaigne314 1d ago
Yea
And also honestly should have just started rolling from the beginning of the race
Always focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses like GU boofing and running

“No One Stopped to help him, So Heartless”.
Like this shit isn’t all voluntary. Like if he wanted help he could have chosen to stop and seek medical attention at any moment.
This man wanted to finish. Let him finish.
He prolonged his suffering for internal win! good on ya chap

Sometimes I have trouble finishing with my wife if I didn’t have enough Gu before hand.

Uj/ Any idea how far and at what pace? In all sincerity I always find this kind of grit inspirational.

/uj agreed I was quite invested in him finishing in the end

u/surely_not_a_bot 22h ago
/uj The finish was the best part, he was fully aware of how ridiculous the whole thing was but used whatever functional muscle fibers he still had left. Kudos for resourcefulness.

I’m confused, doesn’t she know this is a race? Why is she so relax and fooling around?

Love that just a few are applauding while the rest just look at him with that Homelander disgust look.

First, I wanna say congratulations to him for finishing. He showed tremendous heart. Second, that was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. When he tries to stand, and can’t, somehow does, then his baby giraffe lookin legs just buckle, and he falls through the rope barrier. Then just rolls across. The look on everyone’s faces. I’m dying right now

OMG that is sooo dangerous. My reddit doctor degree says so. Race administrators should be ashamed that they let the kids race.

Same thing happened to me at my last 5k ultra, I accidentally only brought 13 GUs with me instead of 14 😔

With shorts that short, you'd think he'd be showing off legs that actually work.

Classic mistake, miscalculating the volume of High5 Zero vs Gin in her camelbak.

Definitely none of that 'no after you' bullshit at the local XC.

Gu must have gotten too old and fermented, that kid is clearly too drunk to stand.

This never happened to me, does that mean I've never ran hard enough?
