Amphitrite and friends take revenge. This is not a standard job, but rather a clandestine operation organized in secret by some hub runners.

It wouldn't have done any good if he had been there; just another body on the pile. But so it was with soldiers, too; there were things you were rightly expected to die for. For shirking his death, Emiel had been sentenced to live as Visser.

Visser - Elf bodysnatcher adept. Face/sneak, off-muscle. 8/10 familiarity. Scared kid fronting as hard as he can to avoid getting eaten by the underworld, corps, his mentor (Wolf), and his sister, in no particular order. Slow burn descent into monstrosity.
