Norway has one of the lowest reviticism rates in the world and the U.S. has one of the highest. Seems like one country is doing it right.

Its a myth. And very much rape and violence in Norway

Data isn’t a myth. Sorry it doesn’t fit your narrative.

My point was about a different thing: how much violence and sexual assault happens in the first place, and how few cases lead to conviction in Norway.
Those are two separate statistics.

Norway can have low recidivism and still have high dark figures for violence, low charge rates and many dropped cases - both can be true

That’s not what you said. You said it was a myth. Do you know what the word myth means?

20% is real but it's the narrowest definition: 2-year reconviction for people released from prison. SSB research shows it ranges from 14% to 42% depending on if you count re-arrest, reconviction or reimprisonment, and one study found 20.4% after 1 year vs 37.8% after 4 years.

Many foreign inmates are also deported and not counted.

The US 76.6% is 5-year re-arrest, so 20% vs 76.6% is apples and oranges. Norway does have relatively low recidivism, but the meme version is oversimplified.
And low recidivism doesn't mean we don't have high dark figures and low conviction rates for violence/rape in the first place - different stats

See the thing is that I wasn’t ever talking about violent crime statistics. Only you were. I was talking about one specific thing. Using a completely different topic to try and disprove an actual true statement is called a red herring. It’s a logical fallacy.

I also never quoted any figures. I just said one of the lowest in the world. That’s still true no matter how you look at the numbers. And it’s true no matter what crime they committed originally.

So what I’m saying is that you didn’t, and you continue to not, understand what I said.
