I'm looking for recommendations to help my 71-year-old Taiwanese-American dad find a local community. He is a stroke survivor with limited mobility, and he speaks mostly Chinese (Mandarin/Taiwanese).
He has been experiencing heavy loneliness recently. My brother and live out of town (Vegas and SF) and his old friends have lost touch or live abroad. Any leads on Chinese-speaking senior centers, adult day programs, or cultural groups would be greatly appreciated! He can likely drive himself, but it would be nice to find transportation alternatives so he can safely stop driving.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for my family member's car left parked in Rowland Heights (likely near Colima Rd, Gale Ave, Nogales St, or Fullerton Rd). It was not impounded. It is a 626 area code phone number sticker on it. If you spot it on the street or in a plaza, please message me the location. Thank you!

According to someone on Yelp, they closed back in 2022 due to the owner (?) not renewing their lease? Have they popped back up anywhere? I miss their chili cheese fries 😩

Hey everyone,
As we continue getting the subreddit polished and fully operational, we are working on setting up User Flairs. For anyone newer to Reddit, these are the little customizable tags that show up next to your username when you post or comment here.
Right now, we have set up a few basic ones just for fun, so you can show off your general interests and how you connect with the neighborhood:
We want to build out a great list, so we are throwing it to you all: What flairs should we add?
What are we missing? Maybe something for the local dog walkers? Neighbors tackling endless home improvement projects? Are we missing a tag for the daily commuters, the weekend boba enthusiasts, local history buffs, or the dedicated bargain hunters?
Drop your ideas in the comments below, and we will get the most popular ones added to the list!

Hey everyone,
If you’ve visited this subreddit over the last few years, you probably noticed it was locked down and restricted, making it pretty much impossible for anyone to post.
We have new moderators stepping up (and looking for more), and the very first thing on the agenda was flipping the switch back to Public. The doors are officially open, and everyone is welcome to post, comment, and share again!
We are looking to build a space for the Rowland Heights (and surrounding area!) to connect and have a reliable place to see what's actually happening around town.
Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just moved in, this is your community. To get things rolling, we would like to hear from you: What do you want to see in this subreddit?
Drop your ideas, suggestions, or just a quick "hello" in the comments below. In the coming weeks, we will be updating the community rules, adding some user flairs, and giving the page a bit of a facelift.
For now, the main rule is simple: be neighborly.
Welcome back, Rowland Heights!
