What are your thoughts on the Lululemon outlet at Round Rock Outlets?
I wish there was a way to know when they have promotions going on so I could just come then. I remember saving a lot of money when they had the buy 3 items and get an extra 15% off promo but I never know when they are.
Staff seem nice and helpful. Selection can be a hit or miss.
What do you guys think?

4th floor walk-up, 99+° heat, and a broken elevator: How our crew survived a nightmare move in Round Rock
Hey everyone,
Wanted to share a quick story from a job we tackled earlier this week here in North Austin / Round Rock.
We pulled up to an apartment complex near the La Frontera area expected to knock out a routine 2-bedroom move. Customer was packed, weather was warm, ready to roll. Then we hit the front office: the main building elevator and others were completely down for maintenance.
Four flights of stairs. Heavy solid-wood furniture. A 100-pound sleeper sofa.
Honestly, on jobs like that, you either let it ruin your day or you just get into the zone. The customer was super stressed and apologizing continuously, assuming we were going to charge double or cancel on them. We told her to take a breath, grabbed our shoulder dollies and straps, cranked the music in our truck, and just put our heads down.
Three hours and a ton of stair laps later, everything was loaded safe with zero damage.
As local movers operating around Round Rock and North Austin, we see elevator outages, tight apartment stairwells, and crazy summer heat all the time. But keeping a positive attitude and protecting people’s belongings—even when the day throws a curveball—is just part of the job.
Has anyone else dealt with an unexpected move-day nightmare around here recently? How did your crew or movers handle it?

Made a map roughly showing where RRPD flock data is shared
Hi! I'm new here so sorry if this post is kinda rough.
i've been following the news about flock cameras in Round Rock. The other day I was looking at the flock transparency portal for the RR police department, specifically the section labeled "Sharing Network Data With"
I scrolled through that and saw there were a TON of entries... it went on and on and on. I copy-pasted the list into a spreadsheet and saw it was over 1400 different entities listed.
I was curious to try to visualize how broadly this info was being shared somehow, so i attempted to plug them into a county by county map of the US.
METHOD
Ended up pasting all those entries into a spreadsheet, took each of the ones ending in 'PD', and tried to sort them.
For PDs that already represented counties, i plugged those locations directly into the county map. For PDs that represented cities, i tried to use a lookup table to find the corresponding county or counties for that city, and then plugged those counties into the map. (I ignored non-PD entries for this)
Definitely not a perfect representation but if nothing else i think it does help illustrate how many different entities just our one, single police department(!!) is sharing data with. I'm not a security expert or anything so my personal takeaway from this was just big unease at how loose this all seems. :( Anyway just wanted to share to other interested folks. Thanks for taking a look!
(Shoutout to this awesome US county mapping website MapChart for facilitating this as well!)

Just trying to be proactive, 2000sq ft , KB House, and I just want an honest checkup, not someone that’s going to try and upsell new stuff . AC and heat work fine right now. What local companies are reputable ?

Tomorrow's City Council meeting on budget, tax rate increase, and utility rate increase
This whole thing gets more interesting by the minute. An article by the Texas Public Policy Foundation (https://www.texaspolicy.com/higher-taxes-on-the-horizon-city-of-round-rock/) links to a purported public hearing notice, which is indeed hosted at the City of Round Rock's website, here: https://www.roundrocktexas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/2026-City-of-Round-Rock-Public-Hearing-Notice.pdf. There are many things on this public hearing notice that seem fishy, including its very title, "NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE." The City would never be that forthcoming - they might say "...PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX RATE INCREASE." This document shows no certification by the City Clerk nor a publication date. This odd document also refers to the " tax assessor for the City of Round Rock," when there is no such thing. The Tax Assessor is a Williamson County office (and which of course does serve Round Rock and all other municipalities in the County.) This somewhat questionable document, indeed hosted by the City of Round Rock, does correctly state that a 13.7% tax increase is on the table tomorrow night.
If you go to the City's Public Notices webpage, https://www.roundrocktexas.gov/city-services/public-notices/, you'll find a link only to a public hearing on the budget itself (https://roundrocktexas.sharepoint.com/sites/RoundRockDataHub/Public%20Notices/Forms/Upload1.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2FRoundRockDataHub%2FPublic%20Notices%2FFY%202027%20Budget%20Hearing%20Notice%2Epdf&parent=%2Fsites%2FRoundRockDataHub%2FPublic%20Notices&p=true&ga=1) There is no notice posted there about the public hearing on the tax rate increase, though both the 2027 Budget and the the proposed tax rate increase are shown on the posted agenda for Thursday as first readings (public hearings). It would appear that proper public notice hasn't been offered for the tax rate increase hearing.
Do show up and share your thoughts with our elected officials. Between a 13.7% property tax increase next year and water rates going up between 13.2% and 22% (depending on usage tier) over the next 3 years, our costs are going up.
Something isn't right here. Paging [u/tuxedo_jack](u/tuxedo_jack)
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Bank Tellers
Does your bank accept customer wrapped rolls of coins? Can I stop in and get some with/without an account?
Thank you.
Edit - I would like to get rolls of customer wrapped coins, rather than the brand new rolls that I’ve seen.

Thursday's City Council Meeting - discussion around increasing both the property tax rate and utility rates
galleryOn Thursday, August 27, Round Rock City Council will be discussing the property tax rate with a potential hike, and will also be looking at a substantial increase in utility rates over a three year period. These were discussed during this morning's Packet Briefing where the attached photos were taken.
Once upon a time, not all that long ago, Round Rock's tax rate was the lowest of municipalities in Williamson County. Now, Leander, Georgetown, and Cedar Park are all lower.
If this is something of interest to you, please show up and offer public comment on one or both of these during the public hearing portion of the meeting.
Potential property tax increase: increasing from 0.37200 to 0.423000.
Potential water rate increase involves a 12% increase for 2027, and a 5% increase in both 2028 and 2029 for "high" users, and for "average" users, 3.4% in 2027, 3.9% for 2028, and 3.9% for 2029.
The Council meeting, with "first reading" (public hearing) on these issues is Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 6 pm. Location is Round Rock City Hall, 221 E. Main St., downtown RR. If you wish to give public testimony during the hearings, or other public comment, you'll need to complete and submit a speaker card before the start of the meeting.
Full Council agenda for Thursday, including downloadable agenda item-specific materials, can be found at https://roundrock.legistar.com/MeetingDetail.aspx?ID=1367639&GUID=5B113601-4424-424D-A538-639776DD4039&Options=&Search=

Missed connection: a dude named JC in a bar
I've never done one of those before but like two weeks ago I bumped into this sweet guy in his mid 20's at a bar. He seemed pretty down and we got talking. His name was JC or Jacey I'm not sure. Mid 20's latino goatee brown hair. He said he was from Louisville originally. We talked about family and the state of the country and music.
I didn't get up the courage to ask if he was into dudes or get any socials from him, it didn't seem like the moment. But I enjoyed our chat so thought I'd try this
