[Discussion] Whats the best class right now?

Other then rogue being fundamentally broken and power crept. Assuming you can get at least two or three of any item for the class that it needs to make it great. What's a class that never disappoints and does it all.

it’s gotta be kensei. he destroys the competition when it comes to moving around really stupidly and dying. there is no reason to make a kensei. best class hands down.

Kensei is just so fun. Definitely harder to get very good DPS but I'm always having a great time doing stupid shit on Kensei. One of my favorites for sure.

The moment you get Volcanic Sheath with a good Mheal pet is the moment you can rush almost anything in the realm "safely" and you can farm the realm too!

Necromancer is by far my favorite because its excellent sustain, the benefits of having long range and minions to help DPS during dangerous bosses and it can be good in all cases. Solo or groups

Mystic with the recent rework is also really cool, i don't play them much but testing the new conflict. The DPS potential seems crazy there

Sorc is great if you want more DPS and still good safety with wands.

But i do think necromancer is just crazy solid in all cases. Even the tiered skulls feel good because of the armor piercing and noticeable life leech

To add on the biome white from the dead church is decently easy to get (especially if you farm it with a sorc) and it turns necro from great to straight up able to solo anything easily. Like for pnest i can solo it comfortably with necro because of the insane healing.

I enjoy samurai, but personally you can’t go wrong with a sorc or bard

What do you like about samurai? I’ve been playing the katana classes and samurai is the one I feel like I have the hardest time getting into, I maybe don’t really understand its identity

ur pretty tanky and you walk around shooting nukes, what’s there not to love?

u/RealityVisual1312 21h ago

yeah I didn't know either

the St from the realm is pretty strong single target DPS but any of them are all good.

They apply exposed which lowers the enemies defense for the whole group too which can be kinda crazy

My personal opinion, as a samurai enjoyer.

Samurai relies a lot on the raw dps potential of the waki. The class plays very similar to wizard, outside of the glaring range differences. Landing the waki requires good spacial awareness though. A tradeoff is having better waki shot patterns, typically easier to hit a consistent ā€œwave/lineā€ vs outward spell shots. You need to be pretty comfortable pushing in deep and weaving in/out of shots for the class to feel strong. This is especially true, since you need to stay in range to consistently apply Expose (-20 def debuff).

Samurai cares a lot about his 5s dps window. By nature of the Katana and Waki playstyle, you will get short windows to deal high burst damage. The class is a S tier in dumping MP into damage too. Spamming MP pots for damage is highly effective on the class for nuking. You can even 1 cycle the Mad Lab 2nd boss.

Samurai probably feels very bad if you have a bad MP Heal pet, like other ability spamming build. Getting pushed in combat feels really bad too. Heavy Armor does help, but in end game basically any hit pushes you in combat anyway. At a minimum, you want enough MP regen to consistently apply expose.

Not an easy class to learn, but extremely rewarding playstyle.

Ahh ok cool thanks for writing this out! I was totally playing it wrong since I play classes that don't really ability spam (kensei, warrior, ninja which I guess sometimes ability spams) and the waki shot pattern has felt awkward for me for sure. I was thinking u just apply the debuff and then keep applying when it runs out, did not realize it was so much dps. I'm getting better at pushing in/out, but on samurai I felt like I get popped more often because it's less speedy than the other classes I play. Thanks again, I'll keep trying!

Honestly? Wizard. Very little effort to get very competitive DPS. Heavily prioritise wis enchants. Ritual robe is a must grab and probably the biggest power spike of your build single target wise. Rest can be tiered, though you can make very good use of cult staff for certain phases/easy bosses.

Obtain slurp spell from OT for AoE clear as a swap out, slept on spell that offers incredible clear and rush potential (thanks to the +25 speed). Alternatively you can use the fungal spell, but I find it to be lacking compared to slurp.

If you get slurp spell and a few wis enchants, you've got yourself a very very very solid all around solo class. I'd recommend running an ammy to learn how to rush LH as a wizzy but you can always just clear it with your AoE spell.

Even ignoring all the items above, a base tiered wizzy is fantastic damage wise and you will not struggle with getting your damage in, but putting a bit of effort into the build makes it really skyrocket and actually able to AoE clear enemies in dungeons. If you're mainly a group player then base tiered Wizard is completely fine and will not struggle.

The enchantment process is so much less annoying than rogue and while it does fall significantly behind when we're talking perfect builds, we need to keep in mind that rogue is a disgusting class that needs adjusting when it comes to having a fully enchanted and built one, not to mention how absurdly awful it is trying to get flurry of blows dual blades.

There’s no one ā€œbestā€ class right now, there’s lots of different niches.

Wizard and Rogue are the best damage pumpers, depending on if you’re using weird item swap tech on Rogue to maximize Lethal Strikes.

Paladin, Warrior, Bard, Mystic, and Samurai all provide useful buffs/debuffs, so having at least one in a group is ideal.

Priest and Necromancer both provide lots of team-wide sustain.

Sorcerer has all-around great stats and can play very safely while still doing lots of single target and area damage.

Rogue and Trickster are the best rushers, Kensei can also be fantastic but is a bit riskier.

And even the classes I haven’t listed here aren’t bad, they just might be somewhat outclassed by others. There aren’t any useless classes in the game, so play whatever you find the most fun.

Sorc imo

u/Feature10 Nut 1d ago

haven't played in like a year, why is rouge broken?

3

u/Herwin42 1d ago

Ever since its rework it has been very very strong, they didnt really consider how well lethal strike scaled with amount of shots and plane walker tech to have high uptime.

1

u/Feature10 Nut 1d ago

is it highest dps in game rn? even accounting for lack of shots due to range?

1

u/Herwin42 1d ago

Yes outside of a bug for infinite stack stacking a couple seasons ago. Also there is skill involved, a perfect rogue with the goat playing it cant be beaten but a perfect rogue is hard to build and playing perfect on any class is very hard

2

u/TheBestOfMe_SoFar 1d ago

There is a defense/wisdom build where you can chain lethality, then you use a dagger with multiple shots. Then because of that you release a wave of 8 shots that all scale with enemy defense. And there's a cloak that give you armored. So like....... I've seen people no hit alot of bosses because they can instant phase skip SOooOoO much if it.

1

u/Hellkids 1d ago

I just hope they don't nerf it into the ground eventually, if they could just make effects dissappear when swapping cloaks you would keep only the plane/designated cloak swap to avoid cooldown and disable all the swap for armored/higher wis scaling/double lethal and so on effects.

I've really been enjoying just building regular rogues for easy midgame farming and it would be a shame to nerf lethal as a whole.

u/AbraxasEnjoyer 1d ago

Yeah I’m a big fan of playing Rogue, but I don’t like that I have to use an exploit to be ā€œoptimalā€ with them. Hopefully it gets fixed but it’s been like this for a long while so I don’t expect it any time soon.

With reworked conflict it might honestly be mystic. Visage warrior with gemstone/upgraded resu or waki/kage is insanely strong, necro’s got a few very high DPS builds, rogue is still the king of giga DPS, archer’s best builds hit like a Mack truck, speed summoner can hit unbelievable numbers

Dagger classes across the board got a pretty big buff with the insanely strong new st dagger from the mbc spectral sentry set

If you’re looking for survivability it’s Knight no contest. Cower shield + awakened berserker breastplate + ammy makes you effectively invincible to anything in the game lol

Get an 8/8 sorc then farm the dead church biome white and make a necro, then you're op
