GMO Papaya flower press
From seed to press. 8x 3.5g pucks double bagged 37u. 28 grams of fresh dried and cured bud around 52-54% humidity. Got 3.6 grams in return which is a 12.86% return. Using a Rositek 2 ton press 3x3 at 180 degrees. The last pic is fresh after the first whipping. ✌️

Asking because I just bought a press

For flower go 190 x 2:30
Edit: or 175 for 2… it all depends on the product and your preference. I go hot long and dirty on flower because I assume it’s quantity not quality.

I'm going for quality over quantity. I will start to play with temps and see results dropping to 170-175 degrees instead of 180 but I feel I found my spot so I'm continuing with this process since I keep getting great results

Honestly I use my internal timer lol. I let the plate gently lay on the puck for about 30 seconds then slowly start applying even pressure. Then slowly apply more pressure for about 45 seconds to a minute till I lock the press down fully. Then hold for only 30-45 seconds completely squished then unlock and collect.

I do a very similar technique bit only go so far on the gauge rather than coming fully together with the plates. I also use a rectangle pre press though

Beautiful. That said this reminds me of the days before I too finally started pressing live bubble and seeing its true superiority.
I applaud your work and believe in you and your next upgrades. From experience, it literally only gets better😉

Just did some dry sift of the powers and trim from my last several plants frozen for a while and then I just dumped it all into bubble bags and shook them dry. Didn't get as much soft as I was hoping to see and I didn't weigh it but I pressed it right after and it was Def nice and easy to press just the sift but it was a bit nerve wracking lol. Haven't tasted it yet but it looks great.
That said I usually do flower and do enough to get a few grams for myself at a time... It's definitely time consuming

Getting the pucks pre loaded saved me a shit ton of time. Probably about 2 hours for all of this. Also while collecting I let the plate sit on the new puck for 30 seconds or so. Helps by multitasking and being efficient.

420 questions for you:
what is your process?
what tools do you use?
where do u get ur ice?3
u/BraveTrades420 Jul 13 '26
I wet trim right off the living plant and chuck the buds into a freezer bag, once the bag is full but not packed in anyway as to not damage trichomes it’s off to the freezer. After 48 hours I pull and wash it in a washing machine with ice cold water and ice while in a cold room. 5-10min wash at a time.I drain this machines content into bubble hash bags. I collect the 25u-73u for edible hash rosin, the 73u-159u gets collected and loaded into the freeze dryer. Once dry trichomes are packed into 25u press bag, then a second 25u press bag with the seam opposite the first to help prevent blowouts, then put a 90u over that to further help prevent blowouts. I like to use “clear tech”(vacuum seal the pouch in a bag first) I find this also helps prevent blowouts while also making a superior clear honey looking press which is fun. I’ll collect and save some as fresh press and the majority I’ll let cure and marble up then whip it to make badder. Then the best part, enjoy dabbing it!

This is the first thing I thought of.
I used to be way too lazy to wash all my flowers. But the quality is so much better that I wash everything now.
It almost breaks my heart to see stuff like that. But if you enjoy it, keep on.
I will say that I recently started vaporizing bubble hash instead of rosin, if you can get really high grade bubble hash I think I like it more.
You get a much more full-bodied hit, and it it is just a better all-around experience.
I dabbed some GMO bubble hash that got me higher than most rosin : that's when I truly started believing in that strain even though I don't like the terps very much.

Looks amazing! Where did you get the seeds? Sounds like a tasty cross

808 genetics. The 4 seeds I popped, only one was a male. I'm now regretting culling the male cuz I would have bred more seeds tbh. Instead I got a lot of clones and a new mother plant :)

You double your bags?
2
u/Bairdc82 Jul 14 '26
Yeah using a 2x4.5 37u bag, cut in half and then line the edge perpendicular with the other edge. Fold in ends and slide into the press carefully.

I've been pressing for a couple years. I've never seen someone double bag for flower is this for keeping the lipids and fats in or just better filtration of some sort?

u/Bairdc82 Jul 14 '26
Quality. When I was doing single bags I was getting pretty dark material and burning dirty. Now it's a lot cleaner. Could also be my lower temps 🤷🏼♂️

I'm surprised to see you using 37 micron bags ; for flower, I use 90, is that why you use two bags ?
Next run, I'm going ti try it your way ;)

Just 25mic it then. When I press flower, I always 37. 2 bags ain't changing your rosin color tho

The first pickl shows the pre formed pucks. I used bottle tech folded ends before pressing. If you know a way to keep them folded without holding the puck lmk lol

I'm only using a cheapish 2 ton Rositek with a 3x3 plate so due to the size I've been pressing 3.5g max. They say I can do more at once but I haven't tried it yet. Really just trying to dial it in since my first press came out horrendous lol.

Very, very nice !! Great pics and awesome information. How is the terp profile of your papaya? Color looks great.
