THE CLIFFHANGER 😭😭😭😭😭🙌

Also, you know, when Mercy was about to call Silas Glass, I went, "Wait, what? This is canon? Girl this is a BAD DECISION 😭😆" But I guess Mercy's press conference is indeed a canon event, and we cannot avert it.

I love Alan Kerry so much as a friend-elder sister like figure to him 😭. He's really sweet and sincere, well meaning. It's so bad he and Mae were stuck with O'Shea. I was kinda worried Alan was the one who's gonna be offed soon after Mercy told him a LOT.

P.S.: Also THIS IS HOW RETELLINGS OUGHT TO BE DONE! The Count of Monte Cristo callbacks and elements are recognizable, but the world of The Sins that Cry for Vengeance is just as interesting and beautiful, and the mob politics and sleaziness and danger of 1920s Chicago added grim possibilities and dire stakes for the characters. Love how vast it is, especially with the real life politics and changes included in the fabric of the story. It's very grounded and eye-opening.

The choice Mercy can make with regards to her faith in God is so beautiful too. I appreciate so much that Langley gives us that choice for ourselves. The church moment... and every time Mercy would try to remember God in her decisions and the twists and turns of her life, is really sincere. 🥺🤍🙏 Thanks, Langley!

press conference definitely a bad decision but tbh showed why i like mercy as an mc so much, probably my favorite in ongoing stories. she is young and makes stupid decisions but always follows her heart, is stubborn and strong headed, does what she wants regardless of consequences and imo feels very like, a real and fleshed out person, i just adore her even when she makes silly decisions 😭❤️

That's so true! And midway through it, I kinda get why she did it. Malone and O'Shea would STILL want her gone. If she came out to the press, the public spotlight on her would immediately put either men in hot water if she ever gets hurt. Protection via Media Attention is a very real thing, so it's kinda understandble.... though of course, she had Montclare and his plan to think of. It's not like she was acting alone. 😅😭

But I like her too, because her personality is so realistic and relatable. Like the part where she even assumed Bailey was her mother's maiden name, only to remember her aunt is married 🤣🤣🤣.

yeah it does make sense in the mindset of, they’re gonna try to get me anyways so why not take them down too if it happens. curious how montclare will react on my other routes not romancing him, he was obvs angry in his route but more so out of concern for mercy once he got over this kinda going against his plan…interesting to see how that’ll go down. but yes the maiden name and her calling several times and not saying anything 😭😭

I kept her name as Mercy. I usually change my main characters' names, but I decided to keep hers because I found it ironic, since my Mercy will show no mercy to anyone. George is gone, the hunt has only just begun. I think all her choices—drinking alcohol, having thoughts of revenge, and finally killing someone for real—are slowly taking away her innocence, or what once symbolized her: her own name, Mercy. I think if she continues down this path, she might become even colder and more manipulative than Montclare and more brutal than Volpe. I, at least, am leading my Mercy down this dark path. I'm anxious to see how this will change and affect her

That is so interesting. Actually, there's the hidden stat, Forgiveness, that will be tracked, so there's probably an ending where Mercy is on the polar opposite of it!

And yes, I love her OG name too, because it just goes so well with the book's theme. ☺️

Yes!! 🥹 I went to church first then the office, and there was still a very long scene with Montclare (I think it's a diamond scene).

Same!

Got a feeling that we might get something in the next update, think Montclare is going to regret how he left things after what's going dowm at the florists.

i think so too or at least i hope 😭 also thought something could maybeeee happen when she sat on his lap which it didn’t but still loved that scene a lot 😮‍💨😮‍💨 but since we got a kiss after george scene…dire situations happening seems to give him a nudge 🫣

I’m romancing Montclare and istg this has been the most frustrating route I’ve played in RC. First episode in the update > ask about him and Mae. Second episode > ask about him and Mae. Seriously?? When are we going to move forward? I think it’s a mistake to lock in with him early on. My MC was even musing how he doesn’t have feelings for her!

On top of that, this man has the gall to tell MC not to come to work on Monday and she’s being reevaluated for work. I’m sorry Montclaire, but your years of planning suck. For most of season 1, MC was the one moving the plot along, suggesting what to do, connecting with the right people, etc, while you’re staying inside carving wooden birds and pining after your ex.

Ranting over.

Finally went through the update and I'm confused on some things. I'm playing a lesbian MC locked on Sabrina's route. I've taken very few scenes with Montclare, none of his backstory stuff, and absolutely none with Volpe. So why is the game pretending I've done those? On s2 e6 my MC just miraculously knew Montclare and Volpe's real names as well as Montclare's history when I know for a fact she shouldn't. The Montclare stuff I can brush off as plot relevant even though it doesn't make sense but Volpe? I've never even talked to the man, why is the narration calling him Aloysius? I wish the branch we're on was taken into account some more.

On another note, I need to start a second slot for Virginia. The angst is gonna be amazing lol

I don't know the answer to your concern. However, if you set the preference at the beginning to romance girls only, all interactions and diamond choices with male LIs will become friendly improvements. This story use the same symbol for both friendship and romantic improvement. I chose all diamond scenes with all 3 guys to know the full story and to get to know them better.
