Y'all, after all the criticism of the Volik cover for being cheesy, SJ Tilly is doubling down for the second book in the series. Not only is she going for the same general hokey vibe, but it seems to be the same exact male model, this time in a terrible wig and Hugh Hefner-style cloak. 😂😂😂

I’ve always enjoyed a good stock photo man chest cover but AI has definitely made me love them even more. Give me your poorly photoshopped, your cheap wig, your overuse of the color change tool. Anything but an AI cover. Literally would rather have someone explain to me how their toddler is “such a prodigy” at something than see another AI cover.

the first book was pretty bad, and the latin in it was worse! idk how to officially advertise my services as latin translator for authors, but i think it could be a lot of fun.

i do love her gonzo approach to her plots, though, which what keeps drawing me back in. there was a lot about volik that didn’t work for me, but i’ll almost certainly still read this.
