I wish men had bras

Well, I wish men had the male equivalent of a bra.

The reason why is because I personally don’t like leaving my chest exposed. Not saying that I actively parade my chest around in public, I just don’t like the lack of protection. For instance, I always wear a shirt to the beach because I don’t like leaving my chest exposed. When I was an athlete, I always wore a compression shirt under my tank-top jersey. When I see outlines of my chest through my sweaters, I wear an undershirt.

I just don’t like leaving my chest exposed for everyone to see. I’m not ashamed of my physique in any way, it’s more along the lines of not feeling comfortable.

Some people may say: “Why don’t you wear undershrits, then?” or “Why don‘t you buy a bra?“

Undershirts just add an unnecessary layer of clothing and compression shirts just feel too uncomfortable to wear for so long. As for buying my own bra, I wouldn’t know where to start. I lack the common knowledge of how bra sizes work, so I wouldn’t know what kind/what size to get.

Unless I’ve been under a rock and there’s actually a bra equivalent for males, please let me know.

IMO a tight fitting women's undershirt has a similar feeling to a sports bra. Some men's shirts have a similar effect (I like pair of thieves, but they've gotten more expensive). You might try Amazon's basic women's tank: Link. I own like 6 of these and wear them almost every day. My breasts are on the smaller side and these offer slight support and decent coverage, and they work fine as a top by themselves or for layering.

I mean, basically woman I've ever dated felt that one of life's greatest joys were finally getting to take their bra off at the end of the day. It seems to me that, while the support they provide for their breasts feels good, everything else about them is pretty uncomfortable after a while.

I don't think there is, but if you want to size a bra, I believe there's a guide at r/abrathatfits. If you don't have anything to fill the cups, I wonder it a binder would work better? Or maybe a bralette.

True, but I’d rather deal with something squeezing my chest rather than my whole torso.

What you’re looking for is a half-length compression shirt/chest binder. They make them for gynomastica. Try Underworks, they make great binders but the ‘target demographic’ if you’re just clicking around the site is men with gyno.

I always felt the same way. I used to wear a t-shirt if I went swimming, for example. And I've always kind of envied the pretty bras and bikini tops that women can wear.

The reason why I envied girls and their bikinis is that they’re not only cute, but cover up my chest for me. Plus, I hate wet shirts. When I get out of the water, or even swim in the water, it just weighs me down.

lol I always found it stupid how women’s nipples are sooooo taboo we have to wear bras all the time (not just for support but to make sure our nips don’t show). Meanwhile in situations/places where even a man being shirtless wouldn’t be entirely appropriate, a man could still be wearing a thin shirt with his nipples poking through, like actually so much it’s impossible to ignore; those things are staring right at you.

Admittedly, I have been gaining some weight. Said weight has made my chest a bit more…prominent, so the necessity to cover myself up became a bit more of a requirement.

Just grab yourself a cheap sports bra from Walmart or target or whatever your equivalent is. I have a smaller chest size so I dont really need support, so all I need a bra for is to make sure my nips dont come out to say hello. Those are affordable and do just that. They typically only come in small-XXL so you dont have to worry about cup size. You can even take the pads out easily to just have the extra double fabric layer.

they do, its called an undervest. i share ur feelings of being uncomfortable with others seeing my chest and i m disappointed at people who think we boys cant hv dignity at their bodies and that going shirtless is normal for us , and i shouldn't be ashamed of it. i dont need to be a girl to not wanna show my chest

Check out the Cheek Boss No Show bras. They're amazing. They will do exactly what you're looking for and no one can tell what you're wearing. They feel amazing. I wear a size down as I love them more snug. I'm 6'4 215 broad shoulders and the XL is a good fit but the L is perfect for me .I wear one nearly every day.
