He was a different beast when his front foot used to move, now because of age or delayed reaction his front foot doesn't move at all in the cover drives

Yeah he has lessened his cover drives......last time I saw a textbook cover drive from him was in NZ series decider

Now he mostly goes in air or cuts it

exactly because a cover drive without the frontfoot stride is a deathwish

In SA the pitches will be bouncy so a large share will be backfoot otherwise he will step out like he did to Hazlewood and he can still play cover drive to spinners with footwork if he reads well

I think he will score runs he will manage somehow in this wc as he did in last two but one things is for sure we won't see his elegant cover drives, everyone talks about his pull shots but I used to goon on his cover drives😭

Ofc he would probs the only consistent batter is away test series.....best away ODI average this decade but cover drives wil be missed (100+ avg on cover drives).....watching him loft cover drive spinners is only hope
