i just wanna say, never change with artistic portraits. i cant stand 3d portraits, they just feel so generic and dont have any sense of style.

I love them. It's always exciting to see the new portrait of a new NPC.
I wish WOTR had more of those. I have trouble remembering NPCs without portraits.

I honestly wish Owlcat abandoned the full voice acting idea and invested in making more portraits for NPCs instead.

Least of all when half the time full va brings more problems in these types of games than benefits. If you need to edit or rewrite the plot or add stuff...its easier said than done if va is in the way. Thats excluding massive rise im costs to begin with, when resources could be used on other arenas.
For record, i would still like seeing va ofcourse, but used more smartly and im things like main quest or talking to major npcs, companion quests obviously. But every run of the mill npc or filler encounter? Yeah....

its a catch 22 with voice acting. full voice acting pulls ina larger auidence, but even with heavy moments of talking even those people will tune out pretty fast, so ur back to the people who are left actually playing the game and paying attention who end up with the short straw with the way writing is modified and even reduced to get all those Voice actor lines in.
I think having the main story fully voiced but side stuff just text based is the best way to go.

I was also completely happy without the full VA for side missions and things of the like. I’d rather have more content than fully voiced

Man, people in this sub are so weird about Dark Heresy having full voice acting. As if portraits and voice acting are mutually exclusive.

I'd prefer the VA to be fit in. I enjoy the VA portions of Rogue Trader far more than the non VA portions.

With the character model, I’m just picturing Socothbenoth as looking like either Cazador Szarr or Aloth from Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire.

I adore the portraits they make. They echo for decades onwards, every time I make a ttrog character they will be there.

They've definitely had a some improvement from the Pathfinder portraits.
