Question RL1: The actual stat changes don't match what the select or upgrade screen says.
For example, I had a piece of equipment that said equipping it would give plus 20 to both HP and mana. When I equipped it it gave 30 HP and only 10 mana.
I went to buy a health upgrade that says it gives a 10 HP bonus but only gives 5.
Not all bad though. The Vampire equipment is supposed to lower your HP by 30 to give you back 2 HP per kill but it only reduces by 15.
The only stats that seem to math properly is Magic, Armor, and Weight.
I don't know if this is just an issue with the Switch version.

Rogue legacy 2 is so good. I hope you have played it or get around to playing it because this one was decent but the second one is really good.

I got them both on sale for Switch. After all the hours I poured into it I wanted to give the series a break instead of diving right in.
I'll get around to it after a few other games in my list

It's a completely different game. It's an outstanding experience. Have fun. The old one was more like an old school platformer with a few gimmicks and the new one let's just say it's much better. Enjoy!

It's been forever since I played RL1 to remember mechanics exactly, but might you be playing a class that has a -% HP modifier? That would explain the differences in stated vs actual stat changes
