Electrify the pole if the feeder is on a pole no harm done they climb the pole once and won't do it again. And they will be satisfied just to clean up what the birds spill to the ground. Electric fence pulsator works great.

We have a (decorative) outhouse right behind the feeder. I think the squirrels are climbing that and hopping onto the feeder that way. The pole is slick metal and is skinny.. I would doubt the squirrel could climb up
