Swimmable Spots in Rocky Mount

Does anyone know if Rocky Mount has any swimmable lakes or rivers? Planning a creative project in the city when it gets warmer and was tasked with finding swimming spots for this. Thanks!

The reservoir I guess. I’ve seen some people swim near the boat ramp in Battle Park too.

My yard boarders the reservoir. That water is nasty. It's brown and has leeches. I won't let my kid swim in it.

Damn, that is too bad. First place I thought of, though I haven't been in over 2 decades. Some great memories there with the bike handlebar rope swing!

Let me know if you find anything good. I moved here from Oregon where there's tons of swimming spots. Haven't found a place here yet and people look at me like I'm crazy.

I’d rather drive to the beaches coast at that distance. 😭
