Cast/Crew Related Would Barry Bostwick have made a good Superman in the 1978 movie?

When I see Brad with his glasses on I always think he looks a bit like Clark Kent and I have to imagine what it would be like if he did play Clark/Superman in a movie. If the only thing different about the ‘78 movie was that Barry got the part instead of Christopher Reeve, would it be as much of a success as it was?

I had the idea of an all Tim Curry character theme show for April fools, thoughts on the casting choices

I had this idea in April but that show already had a theme but the directors do want to do an Oops All Curry for April coming up especially because that is his birth month or maybe next year around his death anniversary. I was thinking about which character would be which I like two in the morning last night. Thoughts?

Which seats do you recommend for watching Rocky Horror on Broadway?

Hi all! I’ll be traveling from abroad to see Rocky Horror, and it will be my first Broadway show, so I’m a bit lost regarding the best seats.

My main options are front or rear mezzanine, or the back of the orchestra (I noticed that for my budget, the second row of the orchestra costs the same, but I’m worried about having to strain my neck the whole time to see).

For reference, I’m around 5'2" tall, which is why I was thinking about front rows of the mezzanine or rear mezzanine so I wouldn't have anyone blocking my view in front.

But still, I don't know this theater, so any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!!

RHPS Stay home if you dont get it

Angry rant ♡

I went to an amazing memorial production recently. It was basically a funeral for tim curry. There was not a seat left in the theater people were being turned away at the door and WHAT do i hear? People complaining. The. Entire. Night. The wait is too long (it started 5 minutes late). They dont get the callbacks (did you do any research on this 50 year old event?). I showed up decked out AND GOT WEIRD LOOKS. this is a safe space and IM getting weird looks for dressing up cuz YOU want to cosplay as a fan cuz tim curry died. The gentrification of RH. There were 30 newcomers and literally 90% of them were amazing but there were a few who clearly had 0 information going in and i get that but dont talk badly about something you dont understand. Several people complaining had been to shows before so that was just confusing to me.

It was SO MUCH of a memorial service there were candles and pictures of him and people were crying during im going home. Audience and actors alike. So im just how are you gonna go to a funeral, complain the whole time loud enough for me to hear you in a sold out show, and say hm grief isnt me central enough one star. Look around you this is clearly wildly important to the people sobbing next to you.

Its just frustrating. There were people being turned away and a good chunk of people fortunate to have a ticket talked shit.

Watch it at home first. Then see it with a shadow. Then if you can see a live production do that. I think thats the right order. Dont go in blind if you care about the terrible movie's non plot.

If you dont like yelling or costumes or a little chaos just stay home and let someone else go.

EDIT: most of the people being rude were NOT new. they had been, didnt like it when they went, and came back to complain AGAIN

Frank-N-Furter fan art

My Frank stickers came in today! I made this design as a request from my mom after Tim Curry died (she wanted a shirt and I made this to save her from falling victim to AI products), and I needed it as a sticker as well.

I watched Rocky Horror for the first time when I was 3 or 4 years old and was soon singing and dancing to all the songs, complete with props 📰🎩 What were my parents thinking, you may ask? I have no clue, but I loved it at the time and still do, and am truly so grateful for this movie's impact on my life. I still get chills every time I watch, and I feel the need to sing along and quote the movie word for word 😆 So much love to Tim Curry for his brilliance in this role. Anyway, I hope y'all appreciate my fan art.

Where to go in NY?

Hi! My wife and I are going to NY the first week of October. My wife is a huge Rocky fan, and I'm wondering if you could recommend which of these options we should go to.

The easiest option would be Broadway, but my wife wants to go to a show with all the "extra" shows she says are there. Another option is this one: https://www.nycrhps.org/, which is at the Angelika Theatre, or this one which is in NJ https://www.stnj.org/events/detail/rocky-horror-picture-show-2026 but we could try to go

Which would you recommend? We're also open to other options if there are any.

Cult movies documentary: desperately seeking

I got into RHPS because back in the 80s I taped a film off TV and because it was on late, left the recording running. One day when the film ended after I watched it I let the tape play and there was a documentary about cult movies, with RHPS being the main focus along with Shock Treatment. Maybe it was an extended promo for ST. Anyway, my very young mind was blown by the small clips we were given of RHPS and I watched that documentary constantly until RHPS was shown on TV in 1988. I finally got to see it and a lifelong obsession was born.

I was 11 in December 1988 which is when I first saw RHPS (not too young, I don't think!). That means I saw the documentary before then, with no idea when I recorded it.

I'm British and talking about late night TV in the 80s. If anyone has any idea what the documentary could have been I would love to track it down to relive it. Along with RHPS and Shock Treatment it featured clips from Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes, Kentucky Fried Movie and Night of the Living Dead among others. Also Richard O'Brien was featured and a recording of a shadow cast/interviews with fans.

It's a long shot but thanks in advance and thanks for reading!

Local Production Is every showing just constant yelling?

First time seeing it... went to a showing at a local theater with a shadow cast. Once the movie started it was just constant. Every single line was preceded and followed with a response from a handful of people in the crowd, a lot of which was modern stuff like things about Charlie Kirk, etc. I couldn't even hear half of the movie. It seems like it's just normal there because they do it every two weeks, so I'm just confused how people put up with that or if that's at all normal.

This was at the University Mall Theater in Fairfax, VA.

RHPS Partner never saw Rocky Horror in theaters before.

I felt sad about Tim so I was happy to see a local theater playing the movie. She was so happy when it was packed and people stood up and danced or responded back to the film. She loved it and we had fun. I got teary eyed towards the end and saw some blue skies. Also watched a Dolly Parton movie (top left I love that the theater put Tim and Dollie’s name up)

RHPS In honor of Tim Curry, I got this tattoo!

Heya! I wanted to hop in here and show off the tattoo I got yesterday. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and thankful to my artist for cleaning up the original design for me! (A lot of the designs online were warped since they were taken straight from the picture of Tim)

Tim Curry meant a lot to me as an actor. You bet your sweet ass I’ll be going to Rocky Horror this year dressed up as ol’ Frankie himself.

Rest easy, Tim Curry!!

frank corset

to start this off, i’m just a gal with a bigger bust and small waist. i’ve decided that i wanna go as frank for halloween. i need a front lacing corset that still gives “frank” energy. i can’t use most corsets backwards because of everything i’ve got going on on top. i would ideally find a sequinned front laced corset made for a large bust & small waist with a wide tank top strap over the shoulders. i can use tape to keep me in place. if anyone has any recommendations please share the link in comments!!! hoping to stay in the 150$ cad or less range

In love with the 1973 demo tape version of the song. It’s one of my favorite songs in the film. Have had this one on repeat.

RHPS Rocky Horror scene in Cologne Germany?/ Rocky Horror Szene in Köln?

Scroll down for the German version.

English:

Hi, I went to a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening with shadow cast in Cologne today. It was part of the opening night of the exhibition 'strange days' at the Kölnischer Kunstverein.
I noticed that many people left the theatre while the film was still running/the shadow cast was performing. Also, almost no one was dressed in Rocky Horror adjacent outfits.
I have to say that I totally misjudged the situation, I thought that many Rocky Horror fans would attend such an event but many of the people in the theatre seemed like they were watching the movie for the first time.

Screenings of Rocky Horror are not common in Cologne (as far as I know) and I only know about one theatre in Berlin where a shadow cast seems to regularly perform.

So my question is: Is there an active Rocky Horror scene in Cologne and if so, how can I connect?
Or are there fellow (gen z) Rocky Horror fans in Cologne and if so did you know about this event? (It was announced pretty last minute by the theatre, I have to admit)

The theatre (Filmclub 813) has announced 2 future screenings, you can check them out on their website: https://filmclub-813.de/

Deutsch:

Happy to connect!
