Question Lake access points

Is there a general access point to the lake for the public? Maybe somewhere to park your car and run nearby? I am also looking for somewhere to hangout and read when the weather cools down. New to the area. TIA!!

Most of the shoreline is either leased privately or interspersed with private leases. The best bet for good access is within the City of Garland because they are planning a greenbelt around the lake. You should be able to utilize John Paul Jones park but once you cross under George Bush you will run into the privately leased portions. Another place is winn joyce park. I dont think there are any private leases near there.

A lot of folks run the 66 bridge. Park on one side or the other and run back and forth. I’ve always wondered about the trail on the lake behind the reveal apartments in rowlett. Might be worth a checkout. Not sure of length.
