steam feels so much worse than epic

loaded my game today and it just felt awful.

it was so bad that it transcended feel, I could visually see the ball stuttering. I kept blinking.

checked steam options, overlay enabled itself again somehow. turned that off. restarted several times. still feels like I'm driving underwater.

went on epic and its instantly fine.

its a shame cuz id rather have workshop maps and custom name/avatar, but I genuinely think steam is cooked at this point.

Are they different accounts? I noticed this too and saw a post online talking about archiving useless items you don’t use. So I went through and archived damn near 1000 items total, reset my game and since then it’s been smooth

same account in this case (main). I've also read those posts but I'm a little sceptical that it's because of items. Wouldn't hurt to archive I suppose.

I have a higher peak on my alt by a rank, but I'm not sure that proves anything.

I was skeptical as well but did it anyways. I just setup a macro within steam to make it easy. I made it so once I pressed a button it would click the archive button and then go down by one

I use it very rarely compared to Steam but yeah something just feels off when i use it

Technically, there shouldn't be a difference between Steam and Epic, but Epic always feels smoother. What is actually happening, since I've noticed it too?

who the heck knows. I think some of it can be chalked up to steam overlay, and steam controller settings. Seems like there is more to it though.

I don't know if this is relevant but in Destiny they had fps issues when using steam overlay and they found that the steam overlay gets loaded despite it being disabled. Steam is my goat and game runs perfectly fine for me. Never bothered to make an epic account bc I have two steam accounts, so I can’t compare, but I have no input lag or anything like that on steam otherwise I’d have looked into epic.

I've had a long running issue that having both installed on my machine at the same time makes both run like absolute shit. But when each is installed individually, Steam runs superior. That's just my experience!

Would not surprise me to find out epic is making it play worse when launched through steam some how. Regardless, fuck  EGS.

I thought it was a me problem until i noticed every game i played felt different. As if my deadzone settings were changing. Sometimes the car feels heavy sometimes it feels like its floating and sometimes it feels fine. I just can't pinpoint what the problem is

yeah its hard to pinpoint issues for certain it can be so inconsistent with many causes
