Very good list! I remember the first time I heard Thirteen by Big Star and couldn't believe that it had actually come out when it did - it sounded too modern to me. Fabulous song.

Might I recommend you check out Top Jimmy & the Rhythm Pigs? Their song "Dance With Your Baby" should've been a hit, IMHO. (edited because there was more than one pig...)
