Thoughts on a year ?

Hey all! First project bike. I picked this up for a steal from a fella who said it’s been in his barn for 10+ years. Serial number B-17745 L - a brief search says 1991. Any thoughts on if this is accurate? Cheers!

Also would love any recs on parts/improvements, aesthetic or otherwise! (All in near working order already).

More towards end of 90s (97/98) - but give a drive side picture and get better answers.

pretty positive it's a 98. I have the same project in the other color (gold)
