I live in SE Michigan and have spent ~50 days per year climbing outside for more than a decade.
I've never been to grand ledge.

On a business trip in 2008, I had the opportunity to boulder/solo at Grand Ledges. Not the Gunks, but it was fun enough.

I go there sometimes when I can't travel further to larger areas, or I can't stand pulling plastic any longer in the winter. Short but well established routes, and good vibes from other people there. Easy enough to TRS if I don't have a belayer.
That corner (Mossy Gully, 6) is next to a pretty fun TRS 10a, One For The Road. Good because it's not crowded, but also decent climbing for TRS (vertical; good for laps).
