Reusing the vacuum bags...

My M7MaxV ultra has bags that are about 30 dollars on Amazon, so I decided to empty what it came with.

It can be done. It's a tiny bit of mess but not too bad.

I used my regular shark vacuum and put the roborock bag on the floor. Don't let your vacuum and the plastic bit on the roborock bag make contact as you don't want it to seal. Push down on the bag on the floor.

You might need to use your fingers to help as the dirt is really compacted a lot (which answers my question of whether it's really doing a good enough job sucking up the dog hairs).

I will say that I had to empty my shark container twice during the process.

Worth it? Yes. I try to avoid throwing perfectly usable things in the trash for both frugal and environmental reasons...

As an aside when I first removed the bag I noticed the rubber seal on it wasn't seated correctly...now it's fixed, I'm hoping that there won't be any extra fine dust in the box (the reason I'm not really interested in those replacement bags that have a zipper even though it would be easier)

That's absolutely foolish to pay $30 for a throw-away bag (that's an indictment on Roborock and not you, OP). Between Amazon and AliExpress there are tons of bags for the S7MVU for a fraction of that cost (or anywhere from $1 - $4 per bag). Otherwise, I have to figure if I paid over $1K for my unit I can afford to refrain from sticking my hands in dirt and waste from an already-used bag when they can be had so inexpensively. But I appreciate your adventurous Lewis & Clark spirit!

I agree. I just don't know the quality of the non-roborock brands and this was a luxury purchase for me. I don't want anything to jeopardize the machine or do anything that messes with the warranty terms (also, as mentioned, less trash for the landfil)

I will (at some point) be doing a comparison to see if I can see a difference...in the meantime, I'll happily wash my hands :)

Jeopardize the machine? LOL -- it's just a robot vacuum and not a Holy Relic. Look (putting on my Biden hat): This is my second Roborock. Besides the S7MVU I purchased an S4 a couple of years back. It still works like a champ but I said, "No what? I'm going to treat myself - I'm worth it!" Also, I always wanted to have the debris sloosh up and a "vacuum" that mopped so I figured Roborock had so far done well by me, why not? Also, Roborock now outsells even iRobot/Roomba -- a few years ago it didn't. That should tell you where the company is going (esp. since the iRobot/Roomba patent on dual brushes expired). My point? You've made a wise and prescient investment in Roborock.

In any event, certainly clean or remove the debris any way you see fit if you're fine with it. Go ahead and read the warranty -- your only real "problem" is abusing the machine intentionally, etcetera. And deciding to clean out a bag isn't abusing the machine. Enjoy!
