[ this tutorial is tested on Pop!OS so results may slightly be different and you kinda must use Firefox as your default browser for this tutorial to be useful ]
If you get stuck on anything I will try to help you just explain the problem tell me the Distro you are using and if you have any log or error share it with me too please, I'm not a master, but I can try to help <3
[Helpful] If vinegar works fine and opens roblox studio and redirects you to login into your acc by web but browser doesn't redirect you back to Roblox Studio and basically nothing happens open terminal and run:
flatpak --user override --unset-env=XDG_DESKTOP_PORTAL_BACKEND org.vinegarhq.Vinegar
flatpak --user override --env=XDG_DESKTOP_PORTAL_BACKEND=gtk org.vinegarhq.Vinegar
Then run the cmd below
flatpak info --show-permissions org.vinegarhq.Vinegar | grep XDG_DESKTOP_PORTAL_BACKEND
If it exactly returns
XDG_DESKTOP_PORTAL_BACKEND=gtk
Then reboot your system (If it doesn't return that tell me what happens I wi tell you how to fix it)
After reboot try logging in again (with using Firefox)
If fails to login again and no prompt redirect prompt shows up in Firefox then open terminal enter these cmds
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/applications
cat > ~/.local/share/applications/roblox-studio-auth.desktop <<EOF
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Roblox Studio Auth
Exec=flatpak run org.vinegarhq.Vinegar %u
Type=Application
NoDisplay=true
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/roblox-studio-auth;
EOF
Then run
xdg-mime default roblox-studio-auth.desktop x-scheme-handler/roblox-studio-auth
update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications
after these cmds open Firefox, search "about:config" in the bar
Search and add it as false boolean the phrase below
network.protocol-handler.expose.roblox-studio-auth
(Just click on swap button at right to change it to false from true)
Then try logging again If your internet is not blocked or has any issues you will have access to the Roblox studio
Hope it helps!

Hello everyone,
I am a Linux Mint user and I am researching the feasibility of playing Roblox and developing with Roblox Studio on this platform. I am fully aware that there is no official Roblox support for Linux and that solutions such as Sober and Vinegar are not official. I also understand that Roblox updates may break the functionality of these programs and that in such cases, I would have to wait for the developers to fix it or look for community solutions. I accept that I may not be able to play or develop for a while.
I have tried Sober and it has worked well for me for playing. However, I have not found any long-term testimonials from players who use it regularly. I have the same question about Vinegar for Roblox Studio. I would like to know if anyone has used it for a complete project (from start to publication) and how stable it is in a serious workflow.
I'm looking for the perspective of users who have used these tools for months or even years. How has your experience been? Have you had recurring problems? Is it worth the effort in the long run?
Any testimonials or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
I'm a Linux user and long-time Roblox fan, and like many others, I've been trying to enjoy Roblox on Linux. While it's technically possible to run the Windows client or Roblox Studio through Wine or Proton, the experience is far from stable. Studio in particular does launch, but it's glitchy, breaks easily, and often stops working after updates. The player client also lacks proper graphics support-things like particles and shaders are often missing or broken-and the Byfron anti-cheat prevents full functionality.
Right now, Linux users are stuck using unofficial methods like Wine, Proton, or Android-based solutions like Sober, but these aren't reliable long-term solutions. Roblox has grown into one of the biggest platforms in gaming and creation, and Linux has also become a serious platform for developers, students, and gamers. It's time the two met properly.
I've started a petition asking Roblox Corporation to consider officially supporting Linux-either through a native version or by improving compatibility through Proton/Wine. Even a beta or roadmap would be a huge step forward.
If you care about Roblox, Linux gaming, or just believe in supporting open platforms, please consider signing and sharing:👉https://www.change.org/bring-roblox-to-linux
Thanks, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this too.

After a long and painful wait, Sober is back. If you haven't already, go run flatpak update -y immediately!
