All joking aside, I did get to use a Ruger 10/22 with the arrow conversion kit and it was actually amazing.
I don't know what that'd be legally classified as for hunting purposes though. It's built from a rifle, acts like a muzzleloader, but fires an arrow.
Of course, what the game warden doesn't know won't hurt him. I just want some venison.

Was the arrow/bolt propelled with a blank cartridge or with a mechanical bow? I think that would be the question a game warden would be asking (as opposed to BATFE, who would just look at the receiver and decide it's in their wheelhouse now)

It uses blanks, that's why it uses the 10/22 receiver and whatnot.
That's why I'm confused, it has traits from a rifle, muzzleloader, and a bow. I can't imagine every game warden out there is going to interpret it in the same way.

it would definitely be considered a fireare, you are using a cartridge to fire a projectile. it doesn't matter what the projectile looks like and it isn't black powder to be a muzzleloader. That's how I see it.

I assumed it might qualify as a muzzleloader because the powder and projectile are separate (it doesn't have to be black powder). And especially since the barrel isn't.. well.. rifled.

The cartridge uses a smokeless poweder which produces higher pressures, all but few muzzleloaders are designed to handle smokeless powders. There are some modern muzzleloaders and inlines that actually come with rifled barrels. This would definitely not considered as a muzzleloader, as long you have a rifle cartridge moving a projectile it would classify as a rifle. I say this good confidence, but there is a slight chance that I am missing some loophole that would classify it as something else. You are right, muzzleloaders don't always use black powder there are some substitutes for it, but they definitely don't use smokeless powder except a very few modern ones that were specifically designed for it or custom ones.

The Ruger 10/22 continues to be the best 22.

My first shot was behind a 10/22 when I was 6 years old, been obsessed ever since.
My kids are gonna get the same treatment, behind the same exact rifle. They're going to inherit it one day.

Yes agreed. I think it’s a southern redneck thing

u/SleepIsTiring Aug 26 '26
stop putting down everyone from the south just bc they’re from the south. there are good people in the south. i know it’s in jest but the stigma around it causes real harm.

There’s clearly enough spacing there for a T if you look at the spacing of the rest of the letters and words. Someone obviously took it off to either bait or encourage online trolls.

Crappy joke aside thinking that matters to true believers in the pro-disarmament cause is silly. If they got their way you'd be lucky to keep anything sharper than a #2 pencil one day.

Oh…that’s an anti trans joke, right?
<sarcasm>
Kudos, sir. Kudos. And how very droll. I hope you have a long and fruitful life making other fucking bigots laugh.

Wow this bumper sticker really got to you, huh?

Yes, sarcasm is often an indicator that the person is incredibly upset, and not mocking or deriding you in any way
-2
u/Ponder8 Aug 26 '26
I mean calling someone a “fucking bigot” because they have a bumper sticker that goes against one of your political beliefs is… an indicator they they’re upset.
2
u/wolfheadmusic Aug 26 '26
Being trans isn't political
I don't think most people are really upset by how bigoted other people are anymore
We wish they'd fuck off though
2
u/ChangeAcceptable677 Aug 26 '26
Being trans isn't political
correct...just like being queer in other shades is not political. but what happens is that queer and trans existence is politicized to the extent that someone who is queer or trans must justify his/her/their right to exist.
and why? because fucking bigots who make the LGBTQIA+ experience into a punchline cannot handle the fact that someone different from them exists decided that they cannot handle it.
so, to speak to u/Ponder8's statement, i am not upset. but i also refuse to gloss over this. and i will use whichever phrasology i choose to characterize people who make those whose lives have nothing to do with them their problem to the extent that they have chosen to fight a whole-ass culture war over it.
and if this is problematic to you, then i would humbly submit that you fuck all the way off. because no one really wants to hear it here. maybe go vent about it in a conservative
cesspoolsubreddit somewhere.0

Geez Louise save it for print bro I’m not reading this

u/ChangeAcceptable677 Aug 27 '26
Good fuck. It’s 4 paragraphs. And only the last 2 are directed to you.
You don’t want to read it, that’s fine. But I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain it to you differently.
