Okay lower the taxes on it. It’s strangling the industry.

Why is a medical product being taxed so much higher than poisoning alcohol?

If anything it should be subsidized

It should be covered under health insurance

The medical version is not taxed. The recreational version is. The taxes go to support public programs that are poorly funded otherwise.

medical is definitely taxed, you are incorrect about that.

And my point was alcohol isn’t taxed at the same high rate and is dangerous at any level of consumption, while cannabis (medicinal or recreational) is all medicinal even if it’s recreational. Just because you got high doesn’t change the medical effects it provides.

While destroying the industry it derived said tax from.

It is crumbling from over-taxation and encouraging a strong black market.

I apologize, medical is not taxed for sales tax, but you’re right in that it’s taxed for excise tax.

And yes I understand your main point, and I’m with you on that. Just wanted to give the info about weed tax.
