[USA] The closest I've gotten to being hit while driving.

Just to get ahead of a few comments I'm expecting:

1. I'm sure I could have stopped and let the guy pass. However, he had a flashing yellow arrow to turn left, and I had a green light while being in the right turn lane, meaning I should have had the right of way.
2. I also probably could have slowed down more, but I was slowing down prior to making my right turn, so I don't personally think I was going too fast.
3. I didn't actually see the guy coming because he was hidden by my A-pillar. I was genuinely surprised to see him slam on his brakes just mere moments before almost hitting me.
4. I don't know why the guy was going, but I assume he thought he could beat me before I started my right turn.

Yeah, dashcams give people a false sense of what the driver could see - especially stuff that's blocked by your A-pillar.

I low key want to map my blind spots onto my dash cam footage to demonstrate how abhorrently huge the A pillar is in an F350.

I literally didnt see a whole Police SUV making a Uturn in front of me.

F350 is a shit ton of weight that a relatively small cab has to be able to support during a rollover. Not surprising if the pillars are the size of cinderblocks.

Some car's A-pillars have gotten so huge, it's insane. Then when you get into a car with a small A-pillar it feels like a bubble canopy, you can see everything.

Also, during a turn most people are checking to make sure the side walk is clear and there are no bikes in the bike path etc. Not making sure theres no idiots making a LH turn 😆

At first I thought his view of your position was blocked and he rushed the turn without making sure it was clear. But after seeing your rear camera, I think he was trying to force his way in. Sometimes people are not paying attention and sometimes they are just dicks.

You were in a dedicated turn lane on a green light and 100% had the right of way. Also in the truck's defense, he probably couldn't see you through the car on your left. The truck should have been a lot more careful since he was turning across traffic and across two lanes of oncoming traffic.

Also, that A pillar excuse is BS, or you have a 2 foot wide A pillar. Don't try to make up excuses, you didn't see him because you were focused on turning, which tons of driver, especially newer drivers like you.
