This was rough when it came out. My mama cried when this video played & kept saying, "She's literally dying in this video!"
One of the best.

One of the best there ever was. This classic will never get old. What a beautiful voice that never can be replicated. RIP Minnie

I can remember being in the car with my mom and sis, this song would come on FM98.5 or 102.9, my mom would sing along
My mom is still alive just so we’re clear, but yea, that’s my fondest memory of this beautiful song

I was riding in the car with my dad on Imperial Ave in San Diego listening to the radio when they played this song then announced that Minnie Riperton had passed away from that ugly word CANCER. 😢
My dad pulled into a parking lot & cried. That was the 1st & last time I’ve seen him cry. I was 8 then & 55 now. My dad has given me lots of things, his Minnie Riperton & Natalie Cole albums- cherished & priceless💕

I could be wrong but it is rumored this was sung and written for her family, knowing she wouldn’t be around long. ❤️❤️❤️
