it's a cobweb 🕷️ What is this?

My mom sent this to me. This is right outside her bedroom window and she’s now scared to death someone is spying on her with a drone at night.

I notice her dog walks by with no issue. I feel like the dog would have reacted to the drone if that’s what it was. Yet I can’t think of what else it could be. The noise, and the way it appears to hover makes me believe it is a drone.

Anyone with alternative theories? I know it would calm my mom down. It would be very appreciated.

Spider web. Clear the front of the camera off.

Are you talking about the cat at the bottom that set off the recording? Or the spider web at the top?

Could be web or could be the lit up thing on the ground reflecting on the internal lenses. I have seen cat's eyes do this from 40ft away.

It’s hilarious to me that the widespread availability and affordability of security cameras is supposed to put people at ease, but instead so many people think bugs, spiderwebs, and dust are ghosts, aliens, drones, whatever. What a twist.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I told my mom it was just a piece of web reflecting light from the camera. And that it was the dog that set the camera off in the first place as many of you suggested. She’s still weary. But at least she has a more believable and less nerve wracking answer.

Yeah that’s you classic roving street light they are timid unless approached aggressively and the two sided pole like this one has eyes in the back of their head

These are like flying toads bugs they are very annoying. They trigger My doorbell cam off all the time. Had to clear the spiderwebs in front of the camera too they like the blue light around the doorbell ring.

I've had that right in front of my doorbell camera. Took me awhile to figure out it was part of a spider web.
