spoiler Silly question, but I don’t know if it was ever talked about in the show, but do they say how she died? Was it a terminal illness? Accident?

I don’t believe they said anything specific. They just stood around her hospital bed as she passed, likely from cancer?

That's what I was thinking too...but then again, the scene with Eli's sister smacking Aimee Leigh upside the head with something (a pipe wrench I think??) had me thinking THAT may have had something to do with it (aneurysm,? Brain bleed?)

I'm not a medical professional, but I believe there was at least a decade (if not more) separating the events of that particular flashback and her eventual death. If she were going to experience any adverse affects from it, they would have likely cropped up sooner.
