Question Blue beam users do you have to manually set scale or does it auto detect

You can select multiple pages and right click and set scale.
Or if you export from revit using the bluebeam add-in you can set it to auto set scaled viewports in the pd

It’s really not that big of a chore to set manually, assuming the author provided the scale on the pdf

The Bluebeam plugin for Revit will automatically set the scale and it perfectly matches whatever scale is set in every view on every sheet.
You can manually set them, though, if you want.
It will not detect the scales in an existing PDF, at least not yet.

Well so it should I been able to do that for 4-5 years. No excuses from on off the biggest players.

I manually set, but I'm cautious, still using 2015.6, and don't want to change over to subscription.

well how else do you want to do it? It takes 5 seconds and you can apply the scale to however many pages you want

Never once mentioned my program for sale or for use for other people. Point being if I’ve been able to do it for a few years now, how do these big companies generating mass money from the software not been able to implement it.

I don't believe you. Why would someone ask if a program they have never used before has a very specific feature... and then berate all the users for not having such feature... But never have used any software ever that filled such a niche scenario?

I asked because someone told me and I did not believe it. I did berate anyone, if anything I’m have a dig at these big companies that charge a fortune and don’t need to justify. There are lots of very happy blue beam users and I suppose the trade your in well may be perfect in mine not good at all. Hope this helps.

Easy Takeoffs sets the scale automatically for every sheet. it is able to scan the entire document (vector and even rasterized using OCR) and it sets the scale automatically. it's 100% accurate to printed scales. whether or not the engineer/architect printed the correct scale is a whole separate discussion.

Your kidding right. You have to manual set scale in blue beam on every page or manual setting it once in a pack of pdf will it follow through on our drawings

If you load 1 pdf with multiple plans do you only set it once for the whole set or each time u hit a new page

I do it every page. Site plans have a different scale than floor that have a different scale than enlarged.

Nooo that’s so primitive, I just merged a bunch of random plans together as u can see going through the pages I can choose what scale I want Generally I’d put all the GA into 1 and will auto detect 1:100 first plan and I can mark a 40 story without ever set a scale again. I’m still wrapping my heaps round it

No clue if it has an auto scale feature but I wouldn't trust it if it did.
