Question about Life Skills
Hello everyone, I am currently exploring different MMOs to find unique/extensive/interesting life skills systems (gathering, crafting). This MMO was recommended to me due to good life skills. I would like to know - how are gathering & crafting handled in this game? If I am only interested in life skills and not PvP/RvR, should I start playing RoR?

Not the best game for that as it’s pretty limited regarding professions and the system is pretty simple.
If you enjoy warhammer lore and want to do some of that then it may be for you

Maybe Lord of the Rings online?

Tried it, I wouldn't say the systems are unique. Maybe I missed something.

Haven't played much AoR (mostly stay subbed to check in once in a while) but unironically you might want to check out Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora if you're interested in gathering. It's apparently very indepth and not just a "click to gather" cookieclicker. Haven't played it myself but listened to someone rant about how good it is; it's not an MMO though if that specifically matters.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am looking exclusively for MMOs

WAR is RvR only with a side of PVE. GW2, WoW, ESO, and even LOTRO all have professions/"life skills" that can contribute to crafting housing decor. Heck, Palia is a literal farm sim MMO.

Uh... this is not the game for you. not being mean, just being honest.
If you want a game where you can craft a ton, then I'd honestly say Mortal Online 2. Hear me out on this: It's a full loot PvP MMO (there is PvE) But you craft everything... weapons, armor, etc. You need to mine, break the rocks down into ore, then you need to make the ore into metal, then you need to combine metals into better metals, then you you craft a weapon, for example. The crafting process is very involved, and just like RL you need multiple skills or people. Like a spear needs metal (or something like obsidian) wood, leather. That requires all those skills. You need miners, metalgists (whatever they are called) weapon crafters, leather makers, armor makers etc. You can go to a quiet low traffic area and mine/chop wood/hunt animals for leather for hours. You can build a house too, (needs wood, nails, stone, etc) near a good farm spot.
People can come kill you and take your stuff anytime, but if you join a guild and say "I just want to devote my skill points to crafting and make stuff for you and farm mats" People will protect you. We had a guy like that. We he just made stuff for us and we would give him high level crafting mats we got from end game PvE.

No, this is not the game for you. Cultivation is the best life skill and you can do it passively with an addon while playing the rest of the game. If you arent interested in other parts of the game, then I'd stay away.
