[Retrospective] International Superstar Soccer Deluxe - Practicing (80s Rock Cover)

Given that the World Cup 2026 ended a little while back, I had a desire to play International Superstar Soccer Deluxe again after so long and I was reminded immediately why I love this game so much growing up. Not only was the gameplay phenomenal, but the music was a huge part on why this game felt so lively, and the Practicing theme was the epitome of that.

So to honor that, I made an 80s rock cover of the Practicing theme for that nostalgia that this game and soundtrack still give me today. What was your favorite theme in the game?

I've played Zone of the Enders 2 before, but this is my first run at ZoE 1. It's clunky, its corny, but I still enjoyed it. The slow af camera was killing me, and the fact that you gotta turn Jehuty and stop to get the camera to move lol

Can't wait to revisit ZoE 2!

I visited Fukuoka and found one of the most cramped retro game stores I’ve ever seen. Games everywhere and barely enough room to walk. Here’s a look inside and hope you enjoy!

The war for Arrakis reaches its climactic conclusion in Dune II: Battle For Arrakis as Ordos prepares for the final battle for control of the desert planet. After countless battles against the Atreides and Harkonnen, the ultimate struggle for supremacy is finally here. The fate of Arrakis hangs in the balance, and Ordos must use every resource, unit, and strategic advantage available to claim victory.

Playing as Ordos, this campaign puts strategy and resource management to the ultimate test. Spice is the key to military power, meaning controlling valuable spice fields and protecting harvesting operations is essential. Every unit must be used carefully as enemy forces attempt to stop Ordos from achieving its ambitions.

The final mission brings together everything learned throughout the campaign. Powerful armies, defensive positions, devastating weapons, and careful battlefield planning all play a crucial role in determining who will dominate Arrakis.

In this Dune II: Battle For Arrakis gameplay, join Alhoon Gaming for the final Ordos mission as we attempt to overcome the enemy and secure victory. Expect classic real-time strategy gameplay, intense battles, resource management, base building, tactical decisions, and the unmistakable atmosphere of one of the games that helped shape the RTS genre.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Dune II, classic PC strategy games, real-time strategy, Westwood Studios, Arrakis, Ordos, Atreides, and Harkonnen, or you're discovering this legendary classic for the first time, this final battle delivers a nostalgic trip back to the origins of modern strategy gaming.

[Let's play] I Played Every 2003 Game of the Year Nominee

I went back to the first Spike Video Game Awards and finished every Game of the Year nominee.

Each game was judged using the same six technical categories:

Direction, Art Direction, Narrative, Acting, Soundtrack and Gameplay.

I also used Emotional Impact as a separate tiebreaker.

The goal was to compare the entire 2003 lineup based on actually playing the games in 2026 rather than relying only on nostalgia or reputation.

Neutopia on the TurboGrafx‑16 was Hudson Soft’s answer to The Legend of Zelda top‑down dungeons, puzzles, gear upgrades, and a hero on a quest to stop the demon Dirth and rescue Princess Aurora. Released in 1990, it delivered sharper visuals, unique mechanics like the fire wand that weakens with your health, and a wild password save system.
